Brown Betty Teapot?

last year

Any help identifying this?

I think my pot was my maternal grandmother's. (Born 1878, emigrated to NYC from Scotland in 1895.)

It's like the high glaze brown pottery pots you see in farmhouse kitchens in costume dramas. Mine holds four cups; high glaze brown with a 1" wide green band between two 1/2" speckled light brown bands. The lid is flat and has a large hole at one end that fits over a hook on the top part of the handle. I'm guessing it was a 'second' because there are two blacked out areas under the glaze. A large '5' obscures the first part of some raised numbers that end in 9669. ENGLAND is in all caps, also in raised letters under the glaze.

(Apologies for no photo.)
