I think a pretty plant to put in it is Double Purslane 'Fairytale Cinderella'.
I think it's considered a succulent.

I'm having major problems with my pc and it won't let me get onto this site. Good thing DH has a pc. I have no idea how I'm going to fix it.

I don't usually write right away but I was kinda thinking DH's pc might act up like mine so wanted to get the post in before his did anything weird, too. My pc seems ok now. I don't like when my pc acts up.

Shorty - I want to SEE your ant plate!! Gosh, what a great find!

Sirius - I got the idea from a succulent shop I went to. The shop owner's shop and garden had been featured in my gardening mag. At the shop I started talking to her about the article and she let me into her garden and it was amazing - small but chuck full of cool things she used for her succulents. She had a small metal crib spilling over with succs. I still have in mind to do something like that if I ever find a crib.

About the Purslane - we have them here just not that one and they're also called portulacas. They are succs, but annuals. I think that's strange that they're annuals. Carolann did you take that pic? It's really stunning.

Tempest in a teapot... hmmm? You really have me thinking now, Meadel!! I have 2 more teapots waiting in the wings and I think I like your idea!

Cait, that teapot is SOOOO cute and it looks like it was made just to put a plant in. It's kind of whimsical and kind of cottage style.

That plant is an annual here in my zone too. I'm right between 7b and 8a and they do also call it portulaca. I found the picture on the internet but that's exactly how it looks. I took some pics of mine last year but I guess I didn't put them in photobucket.

Your garden is amazing, I just don't have that touch like you, right now I'm running around like a chicken with it's head cut off, trying to decide what to do next! Jane-o Sidetrack-o. I just scored some really cool tesserae too, thanks to a heads up from Klinger! I bought lots and she will come shopping at my house!ha! I've been pulling purselane out cuz I thought it was a weed...that's how much I know about gardening! I REALLY like the mirror in the lid! I noticed it right away and thought, hey! A solar panel for her plant!ha! Cute touch!

I sure like how that turned out! And you've already got it potted....mine would have sat for a week waiting for grout and then another week waiting to be potted.

OK - that does it. I'm gonna dig a little copper teakettle and an old iron kettle out of a flowerbed and mosaic them. I had them planted, but they fell to junk a couple winters ago, and I never got back to them. Yours is just darlin'.

What a totally cute teapot! Can't say I care for the name though....as we've just had to start a treatment with Terminex for carpenter ants!
