Refilling after a Leak
Comments (4)I may be way off base with this comment, but am going make it anyway. Keeping my mouth shut (hands off the keyboard) isn't a strong point of mine. :) Do you have a waterfall or a stream? I ask because there was one spot in my stream where the water would slowly leak out, just a little at a time but enough to lower the pond. This happened more than once. The original problem was that I didn't have enough overhang of liner at the top pool. The two causes of the leak were: 1. The liner would slip down just a little 2. Creeping jenny would cause just enough of a damming effect at the first waterfall that the water level would rise in the top pool. And.. because there wasn't enough overhang, the water would go over the edge of the liner in that one spot. So.. there's my comment. I hope you solve your leak problem. That is so annoying and potenially a serious situation for your fish, not to mention the extra work if you have to replace the liner. Thanks for posting about the cornmeal. I hadn't come across that thread before. I will do a search on it as I have a friend who used a cheap plastic liner and is concerned about leaks. This may help her. Comments (15)So....I finally get to a big piece of info that I didn't know about. Apparently ALL our plants are on the same drip line. The landscape guy only put in one line back there when he did the wall. UGH! I had no idea about this. So, this means I can't do anything right? If I bump up the water on my palms/tropicals, I drown my roses, right? If I water the palms seperately say with a bucket or something, how much and how often? I didn't go down a full foot, but I was able to try and go down a few inches and it's pretty dry, yeah. About the Philo, yeah, all the tropicals minus the palms went in March/April-ish. The philo was really doing good and now it's just become so hot. I am trying so hard to find out what to do. I am upset w/the nursery we purchased all our stuff from because they're not calling back at all to help w/advice. The bird of paradise and our canna are doing amazing. Comments (3)The evap coil has multiple leaks. They used a sensor and it went nuts in about 4 different spots as it got near. They didn't offer a repair and just said to replace the ac unit. I know a few neighbors who did replace just the evap, around 1500 dollars. If it is just going to buy me 2-3 years until something else major goes, then it doesn't make a heck of a lot of sense. Comments (3)Then you must be in "spa" mode with the only water circulating is the spa water. To get more water in you will have to close the spa drain until the spa fills back up....See More- last year
last yearSpeaking of Costco, I thought these gloves were a great buy. They come in one size so they fit my hands or my husband’s meathooks. If you buy them in the warehouse, they are even cheaper, less than a dollar a pair. The palms are grippy and waterproof.
They last a long time.
