No, but I did watch and enjoy My Octopus Friend.

I watched My Octupus Friend...and LOVED IT. Remarkably Bright Creatures was not plausable. Octopus DO NOT come to conclusions about who is related to one another...then act upon it....written for a gullible audience. Hated it!

That ONE was just "stupid"! It was presented as a REAL possibility....like tree fairies exist....they dont! I like fiction....with real situations...not made up senseless junk.

On the other hand, I loved “Remarkably Bright Creatures”… that it is, of course FICTION. The definition of fiction… is something that is NOT necessarily going to happen in the real world. And then there’s FANTASY, A form of fiction that is definitely not going to happen in the real world. If you don’t like the genre of fantasy, don’t read books in that genre….lol.

@liasch....It was a required read in a book club I eventually quit!

The premise for the book is an octopus is looking out for people...he doesn't know....and cares for them risking his own life...because we as humans are so ABOVE all other creatures he sacrifices himself and his own need to survive.

THAT to me is a disgusting premise. Not just fiction...not just fantasy....disgusting self importance the reader is supposed to find endearing. We then overlook the silliness of the situation...because we like the outcome......a happy ending....

Hmm… well I’m not going to try to convince you to like the book… Ha ha.. but that wasn’t the premise for me at all. But if you discussed it in your book club I’m sure you got multiple points of view.
