ETA : a lot of used to be cotton items now have elastic or polymer. It is NOT that customers want polluted cotton; but market prices push in that direction, or people just accept it.

Ballard Designs catalogue, same thing. They've been OVER PRICED for years. I do shop their sales and like to see what they're offering....but.....they really shouldn't list their prices. JMO Ya know...inflation was out of control last year too....and the year before that....

I remember when eggs were .99 a doz. That's been going down. There's a vote on the local ballot to raise electric prices here. The grid is over loaded with all these electric cars....

I don't even look, and wish I didn't get the catalogue......I buy a fair amount of LL Bean stuff, but when I want or need something I go to the website. The catalogue goes straight into the recycling bin :(

You are right paying more for good cotton. I'm returning a nightgown that is supposedly mostly cotton, but feels 'rubbery'; it stretches. It never left its plastic shipping bag.

Talbot's and Lands End have pima cotton tops.

Inflation will continue to come down unless the Fed is pressured into lowering interest rates. (You can't have both.)

I have a brand new LLBean store two miles from me. My daughter knows I only wear 100% cotton clothes so she buys me gifts there. The cotton IS 100% but does not compare in any way to all the turtles, tees and shirts I have in my closet from years ago. New cotton is NOT the same quality as old, so I am happy shopping my own closet. I am wearing 100 % cotton leggings now from Gap and they are years old and nothing like them on the market today.

I usually buy a lot of the L L Bean pima cotton Tees.. But for some @#&&% reason they have stopped making real V-necks with short sleeve, sleeveless and Long sleeve cotton Tees. Grrrr. I am petite torso w breasts. Only the V-neck works. I do not want round, boat or scoop neck. I do not want a Henley neck, nor the folded (bulky, hot V-neck).

Please, just a simple, clean V-neck. grrrrr. No dice.

And LL Bean, I do not want 3/4 sleeves. Try putting a shirt of sweater over 3/4 length sleeves. The sleeves bunch up. I know how to roll long sleeve up when needed.

And, I am a ”winter” so navy blue works (or Prussian, cobalt, ….). Melon, orange, yellow, pink, aqua, baby blue, tourquoise, pumpkin, cherry, mango, honey, cocoa, gray, olive, charcoal, sienna, cinnamon, lime, puce, easter egg, and black heather don’t work for me. Nor do orange-haze or scarlet. (Got a Turkey red? True red?)

If you put elastic crap in blue jeans or khakis, they will slide off me unless I have 3 Ace bandage ”belts” holding them up. I want 100% Cotton. I do not want to pay 30% more for elastese, or slimese. I might as well shop at Walmart or re-fashion my husband’s used denim jeans.

I will wear feed sack, I guess. I am unlikely to buy. Peeves me.

I need names of other casual wear vendors. Gimme.
