Well, this happened a few weeks ago.

Married the guy I dated at 19 and dropped him for greener pastures. Thank goodness he's forgiving! 42 years later.

Hi Denise, I live in zone 7a southeast Missouri. My jade usually goes on the porch around Halloween and comes in around Thanksgiving. I was reluctant to cut back so late but jade likes the cold anyway so I did it! I am a firm believer in cutting back and pruning jade. Its so much prettier if you do. In spring I also like to attack crown of thorns. I dont just let them do as they please. Im pretty brave usually. If convinced it will benefit in the long run I'll go for it!

Nestbuilding going on here....babies fledged less than a week ago

Congrats on the fledging and the second nesting. I am very anxious for the fledging of our nestlings, because it will be our first successful fledging. I'm also bummed that we will most likely be on vacation when they fledge: we are leaving for a week starting on the 11th, and today is their 8th or 9th day. I have no idea if they will stick around or not...hopefully I can atleast see them once when we get back just to be sure that they made it and are safe. Maybe mine will fledge late so I get to see them, however it is very doubtful since it is late in the season and I'm providing mealworms; I'm really just hoping for healthy fledglings. I think my TRES will be fledging today or tomorrow. I have been seeing heads poking out and hearing a lot of wing-flapping.

Cat much less active than a few months ago

Thanks Emily. Litterbox seems fine, though he shares with two other cats so it's hard to see what he's producing all the time. But his urinalysis came back normal. He does seem to be drinking a lot but his kidneys came back normal too. The vet specifically did some extra tests to make sure the kidneys were fine. Appetite is fine, he's sleeping a lot too but I think that's correlated with moving less. He doesn't hesitate to jump up and down on things. We had an incident over Christmas break where another cat of mine got loose (he's separated and has his own room because he attacks my other cats) and got into a huge fight with this cat. The mean cat was chasing this cat all over the house, attacking, and i'm sure they both flew down the stairs. We were able to get them separated after a few minutes, and this cat seemed fine but I'm wondering if he was injured during that attack. This seems to be about the time when things started changing. But 2 months seems like a long time to have an injury that doesn't show up on xrays. The vet said xrays aren't really helpful in showing soft tissue problems. I'm just frustrated because he seems to be in pain but I don't know what to do for him other than continue the supplements. He doesn't need to use the stairs but unless I lock him in a room, he's going to keep using them. All his stuff is upstairs but of course he wants to be downstairs with the family so he ends up going up and down the stairs at least 10 times a day.

While in Florida a few weeks ago I came across this landscape plant.

Thanks guys. I had problems with this site too. Sounds about right that they are two different plants. I saw both plants often around many homes in Venice, Florida. I thought it was very pretty.
