Canadian pharmacy

I'vve recently started taking a new Rx that I consider obscenely expepnsive even with my Rx insurance. Has anyone had any experiience with Canadian pharmacies? I understand they are significantly less expensive than American ones. I'd love your input if you have any to offer.

We used a Canadian pharmacy a couple of years ago, but don't need it now. No problems at all. Be aware that not all Canadian companies charge the same price, you may need to get quotes from several. There are a whole bunch of companies.

and I don't have any idea how the upcoming tariffs will affect such businesses. I do know that the meds are usually shipped from the actual manufacturer, which might be in another county, We had drugs from India, for example.

Canada’s pharmacies and Rx are very safe. Makesure it is a legit Canadian Pharmacy. But, yeah those Tarriffs and I net there is xtra scrutiny on goods crossing south..

ok, this thread is once again active! "Not so sure about the "unsual" I had cataract surgery and had two in one eye.!! Dr had never seen that before. When the other eye developed the expected cataract there were 3. They took photos and documented the removal but no write up in JAMA .That I'm aware of . He did give me a 3 for one price break though lol. gary" Gary, If you were 'normal', you wouldn't need eye surgery. Whatever your surgeon finds under a microscopic view is a 'bonus' . Be grateful that you weren't "written-up" ! I had cataract surgeries done at age 54. After the second one was completed, the surgeon remarked that the odds of my dual responses were 1:10,000. As far as she was concerned, a once in a career event. She was excited. I didn't give a s*#t She didn't give me any discounts. IF she had given me a discount, I might have been excited except that the surgeries were covered 100% by my insurance plans. No complaints. --Stitz--

I don't know the answer to how you get the prescription, but as for your question about insurance; the question is not "will the Canadian pharmacy accept my insurance?". The question is "will my insurance company pay for treatment obtained outside the United States?", and "will my insurance company pay for non-FDA-approved medication?". Insurance companies choose what and who they will pay for, not the other way around. Ask your insurance company. Some policies cover international care if necessary, some don't. My guess is they will not cover non-FDA approved medication, regardless of what country you purchase it in.

I use Yahoo and I get maybe a dozen a day. I enjoy clicking the check all, delete buttons and poof they are gone! In my Thunderbird mail I get about the same amount. I look at the sender to be sure they are spam, because sometimes one that isn't shows up. Then just click to empty. Then there is junk mail. Do the same thing and again they are gone. No biggie, and I have to think about the fact that some where the person who is sending these actually has a JOB and is WORKING. Sue

I believe companies that sell drugs into the US are subject to some level of FDA registration and scrutiny. I'm sure it's not enough whatever it is. Internet sellers can skirt this rule, that's part of where the danger lies. I think the biggest gripe with "Canadian pharmacies" online is that many of them aren't Canadian at all and sell mail order from Third World countries lacking any form of regulation. The percentage of shipments of phony or dangerous drugs, drugs that don't conform to what was prescribed or ordered, is very high, it's a big risk. Not only because many have been found with toxic and dangerous contents, but also that many don't contain the substances the patient wants or needs to take. Everyone can do Google searches, here's an article from Consumer Reports from last year. PS: Also check your medication on Mark Cuban's Cost Plus Drugs. They don't have access to all meds, but add more to their list all the time.

I responded in the 2 year old thread linked below. I continue to happily use the Pharmstore. No issues have arisen since I wrote my original remarks. Kudos to them for the money they've saved me over the years.

We used Pharmstore for one of DH's prescriptions about a year ago. Excellent service. Zero problems. We only stopped when he was no longer prescribed that particular drug. Do ask where your med will be shipped from. His was produced and shipped from Canada, not another country.

I used one in 2023 for my Mom’s meds. Zero issues other than lead time awareness and packaging was in another language, that was not an issue for me.
