Blood moon tonight

I've been looking forward to this full lunar eclipse for a year now, I think. The last eclipse (solar) was clouded over somewhat. I didn't think I get to see any of it, but it is currently cloudless. I'm crossing my fingers, my toes, my legs, my arms, my hair my everything that I can see it in another 2 hours. How's it going for you?

I'm missed it, unfortunately my hydraulic alarm clock failed to go off at the right time last night :-(

Yessir. That's true. I have been doing a lot of Moon appreciation this week. I think this month it's called the buck moon. It came up yellow yesterday. I remember walking a dog at 1:30 this a.m. and thinking to myself how the full moon played into military history.

Thanks Patty! Will check into it! Love the star drapped sky, the moon.......I did smell rose fragrance in the air, have to find out which one........will report it back the rose name...... I think the fragrant roses are Intrigue and Miss All American Beauty. Beautiful scent! :-) If I see more these roses at Walmart next year, I'd buy them all! Miss All American Beauty was from Walmart, Intrigue roses were from Breck's bargain sales-5 for $19.99.

On my way outside to check out that moon, Dh says, "just go down to the dark basement and screw in a 7 watt bulb with all other lights out, you will get the same effect". A 'romantic' he is not!

We saw it at midnight, and it was the reddest moon I've seen since I saw one in San Francisco in 1981 or 1982 at the I-Beam during a Siouxie and the Banshees concert. The club had windows, and I was able to see it from those. Anyway, that is what it reminded me of.

It was a very clear night here in N.Central Ohio, when I went to bed at 11pm, the moon was full and bright. Well, I suddenly woke up at 3:30am - darn, figured I was too late so went back to sleep. Altho, I swear the moonlight shining through my tall bedroom window had a rosey glow!

It really was gorgeous. So much change going on in the world, but the permanence of the moon in my lifetime gave me great joy!

What I hadn't realized in previous experiences, it's just like a solar eclipse, in that, because the moon was covered, I suddenly saw more stars. That was also pretty cool 😊

I set my alarm for 3:00 and got up to see it. It is in the 50"s here at night this week so it was nice to be outside. It was fullblown red when I saw it and because we had clouds, it was going in and out. I got some pictures of it just with my iPhone.

I thought I'd peek if I was up -- and I was. It wasn't red at all for me, just dark.

A moon eclipse is less exciting. We're used to 'dark' at night, but you can feel the heebie-jeebies early man felt when the DAY darkens. We are just 'specks' in the universe.
