Comments (24)Thanks rox for your hhehelp. The copy was too small to read on my phone, I expanded it a bit and used a magnifying glass but it was too fuzzy to read well, but I think that itits it's the heading at the top left. Last night I looked through the list of topics and could not find the K T anywhere. I've had two links to Houzz on Yahoo, one with several topics, the other only "The kitchen table". If that failed, would I be banished, as I could not find it listed anywhere on the list of topics? Then I remembered that long ago I came by putting "ths..gardenweb..com" as the address. But then I wondered whether the "ths" would be a deterent, as it appears that the "Home Forum" is no longer in use. Thank you for your help, rox and KW PNW. ole joyful P.S. oh, ddeath drat- they're listing me by that darned number, again! (Mr. editor - would you go for a nap, please?). o j...See MoreSunday Brain Game
Comments (18)My FIL joke: There was a man who lived on a farm with his wife in the middle of nowhere. All they owned was a truck, a few cows, and an old bull. They didn't have much, but they were happy. One day, the farmer woke up and found that the bull had died. He went to his wife and said, "I take our money into the town and buy us a new bull. I know you need the truck here to keep the farm running, so when I get us a bull, I'll send you a telegraph so you know when to pick us up." His wife went and got the money and then said goodbye. The farmer arrived in town late that day and had to get a hotel room. The next morning he only had 401 dollars left. He went to the market and was able to buy a strong, young bull with the 400 dollars. It had been a long time since he had been to town, but as long as the telegraph prices hadn't gone up, he should be able to send a full sentence to his wife with his dollar. When he arrived at the post office, he said to the telegraph operator: "I need to send a message to my wife so she can pick up my bull and I. How much is a word?" "Prices went up a few years ago," replied the operator. "A word is 1 dollar." "Oh no," said the farmer "I can only send one word!" He thought for a little while and then said, "Ok, send my wife the word 'comfortable.'" "Comfortable? Are you sure?" asked the operator. "My wife has a 4th grade education," the farmer replied. "When she reads she has to sound each word out syllable by syllable. She’ll understand.”...See MoreSunday Brain Game---SOLUTION
Comments (29)KW, my husband has pretty much every book written by Wodehouse. Almost one hundred, I think. I’d have to go count. He’s been collecting them his whole life. I’ve read most of them, and that phrase just stood out in my mind. I scanned the stories about Lord Emsworth as I felt that would be the perfect spot to use that phrase. There it was. Husband’s messy den.🤠...See MoreSunday Brain Game----SOLUTION
Comments (14)It was quite a stretch for that "g" to cover the whole space between those distant ends ... to make them "tight" - at a neighbourhood pub, maybe? Several of my rather ancient undies have become so out of touch with this attribute of their youthful activities that unless I add some extra stretch, their sideways ends have grown so distant that they drop down further than their middle, that gets hung up on the crotch of my pants- (when I'm wearing them). ole joyful...See More- last yearlast modified: last year
