Sandwiches were invented by the Earl of Sandwich in the 18th century. That’s pretty much documented. I will say that bread is the answer, even though the language doesn’t match up with the question. Breads make sense to me! edit: after thinking about this, I don’t think that bread is the answer….which was being eaten many thousands of years ago, not a mere 2000!

Opinions seem to vary on the order, but I’d agree with being unprepared for an event, flying or being back in school. I once read a book on this topic and three of mine were on the list…flying (by running and flapping my arms hard/fast to get off the ground), losing teeth (they dissolve in my case) and trying to find a functioning restroom.
