JEAN....I had the same thing happen to me just now! I had replied to all of you and hit 'preview' and then it froze up then went blank. I couldn't retrieve what I wrote so I had to start all over. Frustrating. Anyhow, yes those are sunflowers in that barn scene. I thought they looked so pretty with the fall foliage. DEBRA....it was above freezing today and sunny so the snow is doing some melting. In the shady areas there is still about a foot but at least it's shrinking. All my plants are flattened out like pancakes from the heavy, wet snow. LINDA....I still have no clue what happened to Lily. When I found her outside sleeping under a rosebush she couldn't get up, like her hind feet were paralyzed. She walks fine now and is eating and acting normal other than she just wants to sleep a LOT. She doesn't even go to the door to be let out and she always hated to stay inside before. GINNY...you are probably right. I think Lily is getting near the end...she is really slowing up and has gotten so skinny. I feel comforted to know she has had a great life with us. We saved her as a flea-infested kitten that nobody wanted 13 yrs. ago. FLOWERGIRL...I went in to check on Lily who was sleeping on my mom's bed all day. When I looked around the room there she was up on the toy shelf between the stuffed lions. I had to take a picture because it was so cute! As sick as she was she made me smile. PAM...Thank you! AVEDON...The stones in that graveyard are from the late 1700's to mid-1800's so yes, they are very old. Some are so old you can barely make out the names and dates. KAY...Larissa still looks the same today as she did when I took the photo of her last week. You could never tell she went through a snowstorm or that it gets down into the teens and twenties at night. Leaves are still bright green and buds are slowly unfurling. This is a hard rose to find...I ordered mine from Palatine Roses in Canada. It's one of my toughest, prettiest and healthiest roses, and has the longest bloom cycle. Sharon....I was glad to hear from someone in the same situation as me, caring for Mom. She is 88. She has advanced Alzheimers, is legally blind and has had both hips replaced. I hope you visit this forum more often! Rita...I'm so glad you didn't get dumped on in the storm. There are still folks here in parts of NH that still don't have power. It is much too cold at night to be without power so I feel badly for them. I have heard that it will warm up here too so we are looking forward to that to melt what's left of the snow. Celeste

The "buff" flower in the first Summer Song picture behind the Summer Song is actually a fully open HT Marilyn Monroe that has been on the bush for a while. I have some apricots, oranges, and whites together as a grouping. The unopened buds in the foreground that are showing orange and yellow are on the HT Tropical Amazone which turned out to be quite a looker also. It took the heat quite well and kept going even though it just started as a band.

Karen, I'm also glad to hear I'm not the only one who doesn't like making spider webs. DGD should be down this week and if not I know she will be down to Trick or Treat. Thanks for your comment. Jeanne, thanks, I put 3 large candy bars in the bags and will add a popcorn ball. I'm only giving this much to our favorite spooks. The others only get 1 bar.LOL Luvs, I just bought the tablecloth this year at Ross and the table runner at TJ Maxx. I was planning on doing a more formal TS with the runner but don't know if I'll get it done. The treats are Nancy Adam's Premier Krispies and are wrapped individually and one of DGD favorites. OA, thanks for the comments. I bought the spider napkin rings a few years ago. Jane, this was a fun table and I'm sure DGD will enjoy seeing all of her dishes on it. She will not stay with me on Friday nights because she goes shopping at Target and doesn't want to miss her weekly shopping there. She always tells me to come with her and I do every couple of months. Glad all of you liked my new tablecloth and dinnerware on this table. Just noticed I didn't add silverware. I don't think it would be necessary as all the treats will be finger food. Also great to hear I'm not alone with the web making. I'm not looking forward to trying to pull all the little spiders I added out! I think this will be a DH job as he cleaned all of them off from last year so I could try my luck at it again this year.LOL Punk

Thanks, all, for looking. Punk, DH did do a great job and even better he put the mantel lights on a remote control! We have a hidden outlet in the mantel and he plugged in a 3-way extension cord with a remote control. All I have to do is click and lights on, lights off! Jane, I hope I can still leave some of it up and replace the Halloween things with turkeys in November. I'm going to see if I can do something with lights for Thanksgiving, too. Lee and Syble, the cat is papier mache and I just got it a few months ago at a garage sale for $1. The lanterns are also rummage-sale finds. The one on the left has a "flicker" bulb in it. The one on the right is a candle lantern but I've asked DH to put a socket in it so I can put a flicker bulb in it too. So next year... Bonniee--thank you very much. Anything I do in this vein is due to what I've learned from the great ladies on this forum. I can hardly wait until DH makes my dining nook table so I can try some tablescapes! - Magpie
