Guards at Palazzo di Montecitorio in Piazza Colonna, which has the Column of Marcus Aurelius. We walked in front of news cameras when we went to this piazza without knowing what was going on and then saw ourselves on the 7:00 news when we got back to our hotel. In April 2013 two carabinieri military police officers were shot and seriously injured outside Palazzo Chigi during the swearing-in of the new government led by Enrico Letta, and the piazza was temporarily closed. I don't remember what happened when we were there.

This guy put on the cutest shows for our campers a few years ago - rescue dogs trained to do circus tricks. He was so funny - made the first-grader volunteers from the audience wear felt crash helmets and goggles then line up so the dogs could jump over them. The kid with the baton, beret and goatee was the designated ringmaster and hit a cymbal 😄
