I follow him on Instagram - he has a lot of great advice. But you're right, it's difficult to remember and implement his suggestions in the heat of the moment!

Perhaps you could furnish links to the videos, and we could read and practice if we should happen to come across a difficult person here. Although the advice I got right here at KT years ago has done well for me "Just because someone throws a ball doesn't mean you have to catch it."

I wonder if he has any suggestions on how to deal with people who immediately respond with personal attacks and insults simply because someone disagrees with them?

I see he is on Youtube, as well. I'll have a look.

You have to practice a desired behavior until you don't have to think about it.

Something I learned not that long ago is that for people to change their behavior, it needs to be easy, not difficult.

And I guess there wouldn't be as many laughs in the world if everyone was self-aware at all times 😄

You're more likely to need his advice. As my comment said, there are too many people in the world, and on this forum, who are intolerant of contrary views and lash out with ad hominem replies when someone disagrees with them. I generally don't do that.

This guy seems to be like some folks I've known or encountered over the years, especially in my professional career. Those who were/are overly analytical and calculating, parsing every word said and any view expressed. Phonies, ever scheming and treating any discussion as a chess match requiring posturing rather than a simple exchange of views.

Honesty, personal integrity, and the Golden Rule are all anyone needs.

How about making notes as he counsels and checking them occasionally to encourage one's mind to have them sink in, ready for need?

😄 When I read the OP, I thought this thread was going to be about a USA citizen who has referred to himself as ”a stable genius”.

I laugh because he sure can dish it out…. he knows only the “best” people, he’s a talented business man, and on and on and on. Turn the the tables on him and everyone becomes ”low IQ individuals” , ”rude”, ”nasty”.

I guess this isn’t about him. I think the silent treatment does, and will work with him.

My comment didn't need an actual example but you've provided one anyway, as you often do. Does the anonymity give you self-confidence or courage you don't otherwise have?

Could "a stable genius" perhaps be used to describe a well-trained jackass, do ya figger?

Hahah, OJ, I always thought a stable genius was the one who cleaned the stalls!

Sounds like pretty common sense stuff. I often marvel at what people couldn't figure out on their own.

I am going to try to watch some of his when I have time. I started to watch the linked one and thought it was pretty good and will definitely watch more.

Arcy, I often have a lightbulb moment when I realize cliches are cliches for good reason; it's because they re just so fundamentally true.

I often find hearing ( or reading or watching) some wisdom expressed again in a slightly different way really helps it to resonate for me.
