It just pains me, every time he says "This is Jeopardy", and I still expect him to say "and now here is the host of Jeopardy...Alex Trebek". I think it makes me cry every night. I know some things change, but dang this one's hard. I'm glad the show has gone on, the format's the same, and that it's nice and calm. But Johnny never says it right. I know it's not his fault.

I don't know why I can't let go, but I sure am disappointed every night. I just know if Alisande and I were in person, she would hug me. She gets it.
Still so disappointing.

I don't watch it more than a few times a month but I much prefer Ken Jennings. He seems to have a better sense of humor, is more easily personable, and his own huge accomplishments as a contestant give him credibility. And insight as to what goes on in the heads and in the emotions of the contestants - he's been there himself.

I think Trebeck had gotten tired - he was too stern and humorless. Fresh blood is like a fresh coat of paint, it brightens things up.

I feel your feelings. But, it is better than ”now, hosting Jeopardy, Ken Jennings”.

I really miss Alex.

Joy, I grow a quite a number of old Wild daylilies. My mom bought from them when the Wild family still owned the business. They used to have a lot of their plants on a list, if you picked $100 worth you paid $50, so she bought a lot. We still grow all of those and a whole lot more and newer cultivars on the family farm in Indiana. They have all done very well there. Most of them are dormants. BUTTERFLY KISSES, GENTLE BLESSING(still a great white),SCHOOL GIRL(a favorite--have it in a front yard bed,smaller flower, but a beauty),BEN ARTHUR DAVIS(a very large flower, lovely pastel),JIM'S PICK(will probably always have this one,love it--one of the first edge-no-eye),GOLLIWOG. All have done very well, are huge clumps at the farm now. MOJAVE SUNSET--beautiful huge bloom, very vigorous LAKE MORMAN SUNSET--another very pretty flower FUCHSIA DREAM--can't beat the color and I like UF's LOIS BURNS--giant spidery type yellow GREY WITCH--fairly new to my garden--doing well even in the shade All of these have been great plants for us. OAKE'S LOVE--this one died for me, didn't have a very good garden position, but I didn't replace it--an EV and they can be iffy for me. My daughter lived in Olympia for 4 years. I sent her some daylilies. Two oldies LADY NEVA and HUDSON VALLEY did fantastic for her. Her clumps were so big when she left that she divided them and gave a bunch of them away. She was afraid that the new owners might not appreciate them and might destroy them, so she left some, but the biggest share went to friends who would care for them. They both have huge blooms. I can't find Marjoram anywhere in Gilbert, AZ?

I planted some seeds back in February, in the garden. I am in zone 8. But probably the seeds rotted. So far nothing. I will try again. Marjoram is very similar to oregano. I have planted Greek oregan about a week ago. I bout the plant from HD. They did not have marjoram plant though. I can always buy fresh marjoram from Asian market but growing your own is different.

Do you think you have enough confidence? Most of the time I am confident but other times I am not. What would you rather eat Arby's or McDonald's? I would rather eat at Arby's because I can have a baked potato and a salad. I rarely eat at fast food places but I would go to Arby's if I had those 2 choices. I must say though McDonald's new Angus Burger is really good with the tomato and bib lettuce and real cheddar cheese and bakery style bun. My brother brought one over for me a couple of weeks ago. Who do you like better Johnny Depp, Tom Cruise, or Keanu Reeves? I have never liked Tom Cruise because something about him reminds me of my brother, Keanu Reeves I don't see too often and I probably like him because he is Canadian but I really like Johnny Depp. My favourite movies with him are What's Eating Gilbert Grape and Benny and June. Do you spend more time on the computer or talking on the phone? I spend more time on the computer than I do talking on the telephone. I usually get 2 telephone calls every night - one from my sister Marjorie and one from my friend Donna. I would rather see my friends in person but we do check in with each other by telephone. What are you wearing right now? I just came in from shopping so changed out of my jeans and whipped off my bra so now I am wearing pajama like bottoms purple checks and green and silver stripes (can't wear thehm to bed because they have silver metalic threads that make me itch) and a man's white undershirt and my hair up in a pony tail to get it off my neck. Are you Pessimistic, or optimistic? I am always optimistic! When was the last time you felt guilty about something? Can't remember. Whew! Patti I too, am pooped! Had only 1/2 day of school today then off to finish shopping. I think everyone decided to finish theirs also. Brough KFC home for dinner. DH had to work late so DS and I had to feed cows in the dark, thankfully no calves. Supposed to snow alot tonight so we locked everything in close to the house with the big barn. Raven, sorry your back is "out", that isn't a good thing. Phyllis, hope you're feeling better. Start taking your zinc! Oh and BTW, thank you so much for the Christmas card, I'm sooooo bad, didn't get any out this year :(

Alex was a fixture, but it didn’t take me long to warm up to Ken. I hope it’s not sacrilege to say I actually prefer him.

Don't get me wrong I Love Ken Jennings! For some reason, and I don't know why, I just haven't moved on from Alex. I can't think of another thing like that in my life. He's unique, I think?

Funny but my son was here one evening when Jeopardy came on. We both commented that we still expect Johnny to say Alex Trebek (fyi — not Trebeck). If i were the announcer Id get it wrong every time. i guess i wouldnt be the announcer for long.

Alex was such a gentleman, always looking natty in his well made suits. He was a bit harsh at times. Would make me flinch.

Sometimes when Ken says No in response to an incorrect answer i half expect him to follow it with Stupid. No, stupid.

How the heck old is Johnny anyway?

FWIW, the son of a friend of mine has the distinction of having won a game of Jeopardy with a grand total of $1.

$1? That's a distinction one needs to face with a sense of humor.

One of my kid's college friends was on it after completing grad school and had a 3-day run as champion. We know the kid and watched the shows - it was clear from his demeanor, and also from what my kid learned from talking to him later, that he was never able to overcome being very nervous. He's a smart guy with a lifetime interest in knowledge and trivia and he had time to prepare adequately, by his own description. He might have done much better had he been able to remain calm. Whatever the outcome, his feelings afterwards were that it was a lot of fun and the fulfillment of a dream to be on the show.

A former neighbor was a one day winner. She said it took a long time to receive the payout.

I attended a taping earlier this year. It was a significant anniversary for the show. Johnny was there, but normally he is offsite, or so they said. I found Ken Jennings more personable than expected.

Well, Rob, I get it and I don't get it. I agree with you 100% about Johnny Gilbert's delivery. I don't blame him either, but I, too, still expect to hear him introduce Alex Trebek. Except I can't say that I'm disappointed when he doesn't.

I was disappointed when Mayim Bialik was emceeing, but I really like Ken Jennings.

I ordered a sheet of the stamps from my Post Office yesterday.

Do you remember on the Bob Newhart Show(the second one) Darryl and his brother Darryl needed the Final Jeopardy music playing in order to answer the questions for something? Maybe their high school GED?
