pick the wallpaper 1st, then the paint color to coordinate... I like the moody green direction for your transitional space, just make sure to add more lighting options as it will darken the space significantly

There are a lot of items to address in this room. Paint and wallpaper will not fix all the issues.

First, please relocate the area rug so the front legs of the sofa are on the rug.

Second, move your sofa so that there is at least a hand's width of space before it reaches the window sill.

Next, I would consider drapes to add color to your room.

I'd add chests to either side of the FP with colorful art above.

I'd add a round mirror over your fireplace for sparkle

I'd only paint the wall behind the TV an accent color.

how about a photo of the side of the room that you are taking the photo from...

I think there are a host of options for this room.

I don't think you need to do something on both the TV and fireplace wall, I would choose only one. By changing these walls, you are creating a focal point, and having more than one can overwhelm a space. Personally, I would choose the fireplace wall to change up. I think that will have a greater design impact, especially since it ties into your dining room, so you are improving 2 spaces at once!

Generally, I tend to shy away from wallpaper. Wallpaper does not typically age well, so I am afraid you would want to change it out in a few years. However, there are some wallpapers out there that are quite nice and would age well. My advice with my clients is to choose wallpaper that isn't too busy. Meaning one with few colors and simple patterns. I think dark green would look lovely in your space (as you've chosen), so if you do want to go with wallpaper, that dark forest green should give you your starting point in your search. Here is an example:

Simple in color, but has some texture for flare.

My best recommendation would be to choose a dark green paint for that fireplace wall. It will really help draw focus to your beautiful fireplace and dining room. From there, I would leave that TV as is or paint it a simple, warm white. If you are afraid that TV wall will feel too bare, consider a piece of artwork to hang there rather than do something to the whole wall. I think that might give you the visual interest you are looking for without having to do anything to the whole wall.

Interest and added life can be achieved in so many ways. I’d pick one or the other option and then enhance with your accessory choices. Decor will also create personality and look for inspiration before you begin.

Molding and a lighter/earthy green for a more contemporary look.

How you treat spaces beside the fireplace is a factor.

Entire room painted green, for a less broken up feel.

Wallpaper is a harder decision style wise, as it has a big impact on cushions, art, drapery and the overall feel of the room.

IMO the FP looks like the odd amn out all alone so I would not make that an accent wall I have no idea why you have all the furniture squeezed in to that narrow space . Life is added with art so wahy start there. What does the green connect to ? You do not pull an accent wall color out of a hat.Waht are the blck boxes on the wall above the TV? I need to see all the walls in this space and taken with a simple lens that does not distort the space .Post those pics here in acomments DO NOT start anothe rpost.
