Painting master bedroom black?
Comments (4)Thanks, everyone, for your input. We spent the last few days with these same friends. We poured over the magazines (Domino Magazine has quite a few black/gray painted rooms featured and they look beautiful!) She's still not sure. I made the suggestion if she was hesitant about doing the bedroom black, do her master bath black. It has skylights and windows, so it wouldn't be a "black hole." Black really can look glamorous, if done right.....I love people who think "outside the box." Our home is predominantly SW's Blonde. I love it, but not exactly the most unique color in the world. I can't wait to see what she comes up with....See MorePainting Bedroom School Colors- Help!
Comments (13)Any time you paint, it is always best to prime first so I don't really have an issue with black over any other color. I have to agree with the others, I was lucky, my son wanted brown and happens to have simple, plain, almost too adult taste. I posted his room here, it is very grown up for a 12 year old. My daughter wants orange, but we aren't painting yet as the color she wants changes almost weekly so I told her she has to be positive before I will paint. I'd say let him paint, so long as he is sure, he's only young so long and it's only paint. I keep trying to tell myself with my son it's only hair - it's not working for me so it may not for you either. :). I'd even go so far as to allow him to help paint the room. He will be so proud of it. I think black and gold will not be dreary, all depends on how he does it. Did you see the one room here with a black chalk board wall? Maybe he'd be into 3 gold walls and a black chalkboard wall. I'm trying to talk my son into doing one of his walls that way....See MoreConsidering SW Netsuke for Bedroom
Comments (5)I used SW Netsuke in my dining room -- on the upper part above the plate rail and on the ceiling. The lower portion is SW Harmonic Tan. Both colors are on the same "color card" -- Netuske is two shades lighter. I think the color in this picture is pretty true. Both these colors change quite a bit depending on the light and time of day. Sometimes it appears very gold, and other times quite green, and even tan. I really like both colors, but hey, it's only paint, so an easy fix if you don't like it. Here is a link that might be useful:...See MoreSmall bedroom design TINY BOX of a bedroom
Comments (45)mammapinky Yes, they are. I did that on purpose. I wanted a different illusion than just the mirrors hanging, if that makes sense. I want the mirrors and curtains anchoring the bed, like a headboard. Thank you! To everyone mentioning the mirror height, don't tell my husband! (lol) He absolutely hates hanging curtains, shelves, mirrors and paintings. haha I'll have to wait to the weekend or a day we both have the time and we shall raise them. I'll have to ease him into it. ;) Should they go the same height as the curtains? Thing is, raising them any higher and the bottom of the mirrors show, which is not the effect I was going for. :/ chickadee2_gw Wow, thank you so much! :) I truly find this sight inspiring. I really appreciate all of the help you all have to offer! :) And now I can finally move on to the kitchen! rebeccamomof123 That really made me smile. :) I am so thrilled with how it all turned out and it is so nice having people to share it with, who understand. :) Thank you so much!...See MoreNancy Travisinteriors
