Curtain Advice for Double Window

Hi,
I’ve had these windows in my dining room bare for a while now but came across these curtains that I really like and I think they might warm up the room a bit. For the pair of double windows, should I get one panel for each side or a third for the center?
Am I making a mistake by getting long curtains?🥴

(Please ignore the clutter, new baby 🫠)

There is no room for panels on the single window.

you need at least two times the window width.

you want them to look full when they are closed.

for the single, extend the rod to the left of the window and push them all to the left side, to clear the window trim.

Wow! Thanks so much for the advice and great suggestions! I'm not married to the blinds. The home was recently built, and the builder installed blinds in all the windows. I just don't want to get rid of them until I have a definite plan of action. I think the two main options I'm considering are roman shades on each window or a single panel bordering each window (with a hook to keep the panel from getting in the way of the door). However, I have a piece of furniture (kind of a console/storage table) up against the wall with two windows and a door (see pic). I really like that table where it is, but it wouldn't allow for curtains panels to be placed behind it since the table is against the wall. Maybe roman shades are my best option? I'll give it some thought before making any big decisions or purchases..... Thanks again for all the helpful input!

Need advice: Ceiling Mounted Curtain Tracks (and curtains)

I am doing ceiling mounted track and floor to ceiling sheers and drapes with blackout. This is essentially a custom proposition. The rod is made of standard components, but the whole assembly is custom. However, I am not doing a valance so the top of the drape to the floor measurement has to be perfect (and this is some measurement like (Floor to ceiling measurement) - (hardware height measurement) also taking into account location of the hooks on the drapes. I am also doing double traverse rods with pulleys. I think you have to use traverse rods and carriers to hook the curtains on, with or without pulleys because nothing can go over the rod because the rod is attached to the ceiling. You can get Ripplefold Drapes with ceiling track included from The ShadeStore and they have measuring instructions. But if you are making a valance it may not be necessary to do ceiling mounted drapery hardware, you could do wall mounted hardware and hang the fixed valance only from the ceiling.

I'm trying to figure out what that wall is behind the table. It looks like there's a narrow shelf above it. It's both strange looking & yet interesting. Why is there? Is it some kind of wainscoting? Since you want to retain the home's character, I'm assuming you want the wall to stay as opposed to taking it down completely & putting windows in its place. Not sure what to do with that wall but I"d leave the windows mostly uncovered. If anything, & for some privacy, I might install top down/bottom up shade just on those 2 long windows.

I am sorry, I meant to say to the right of the trim... kind of like this, the best example I could find. only with the rod extended beyond the trim, so you don't conseal the window opening.

These windows are really tricky for curtains. They need to be skinny curtains because on the double window, the radiator is almost next to the left window so not much room to stack when open without covering the window. The single window yes, needs to stack only on the right side. The fabric is great and perfect for your room. I just wonder if curtains are right for these windows.

IMO drapes are either full enough to look good even when closed or no drapes , fake panels are IMO always bad . Your window is lovely , privacy does not seem to be an issue so I would leave it as it is , It would be nice to see the whole room but IMO those drapes will drive every single choice you make for anything you add to the space .THye are already a conflict IMO with the art.

If you are super smitten with the fabric (which I am!) you could do an inside mount rod and make them into cafe curtains that stop at the sill. You could make them single panel that always stays open or two panel that can push open, though they make looks skimpy that way. Here are examples of both.

Gee I don't see how you think this fabric works in your room. See example below. Colors are all wrong.

Because of your window positions I think some type of shade is your only recourse except perhaps shutters.

The window well isn't deep enough for inside mount anything. Can't attach a rod bracket inside of the window track.
