Do you have Upper Cabinets at 90 deg. angle? Pictures?
Comments (14)Joy, I have those. HATE them. I have lazy susans ordered right now to put in them. that two height shelf is a PITA! If you must, get the shelf that is one piece. BUT you will be leaving a trail of bread crumbs to get anything out of the bottom shelf. If there's a pull out or anything at all available to bring the contents out of the cab, seriously consider it. I also have the diagonals on top. I've put lazy susans in there already. I WISH I could change them for the kind blubird has. I'm going to check the price when I'm in Mason Saturday. If it's not take your breath away expensive, I might do that this year....See MoreWhat do do with this angled ceiling?
Comments (6)Hey, Sailorgirl. I am seeing that the centerline of the roof comes to the centerline of the window in your Bedroom #1. I think leaving that line of sight straight and related will give an impact that the room is symmetrical. Are you still planning a window seat under that window? Even if you are not, I would want the 24" wide closet door to be a BIFOLD SHUTTER STYLE. That is what I just bought at Lowes already painted a satin white and hinged. I think with it bifold, it would not get in your way as much. We love the bifolds. They do not have to be mounted with floor tracks, I NEVER use those. And we have already bought three pairs of bifold wooden FRENCH doors for the master bedroom in the little cape up north. In order to keep the entire 24" width to the door, we are not mounting any door stop molding on the sides of the door. We only have it across the top, and that serves to keep the door panels straight and secure. When I get up to MA and can take some pictures of those doors, I will post them. The view above the railing overlooking the chimney and the walls below, seems to me they have the look of beadboard? Or something close to beadboard maybe? The shuttered closet bifold doors would look excellent with those. I also recommend that where privacy is not an issue, that the bifold French doors will allow a more spacious feel to small dimensions. As much ceiling space or headroom as you can get, that's what I'd get. You won't be wall papering it, so have it fitted like a ship's cabinetry. Looking great, and really moving along!!...See MoreThe cabinets are in! What do you think about the touch of grey?
Comments (40)The counter tops were installed today...what do you think? Many of you offered wonderful, thoughtful, comments about whether to go with Persa Pearl on the island or absolute black. We agonized over the decision and in the end decided to go with the black; I think we are pleased with the way it turned out. The extra thickness of the marble for the island looks good i think. The persa on the countertops ofcourse have great movement...in any case, let me know if you like? another view where you can see the persa on the near counter as well as the far.. a closer look at the persa pearl on the counter and here is how the corner piece turned out... So, what do you think?...See Morewhat to do when a bad cabinet plan is made
Comments (10)Hi all- I don't really know how to use this sight. I didn't even realize you all responded. How do I learn that/ There were no notifications. And I didn't mean to send twice. Sorry. I'm new and desperate...:) The ceilings are 9 feet. Bottom cabinets are fine. It's the top in a u shaped kitchen I've purchased an entertainment center where the top cabinets are to the ceiling with 7 inches of crown... next to it is a 24 that's 39 inches with 3.5 inches of crown next to that is a 9 that's 39 inches and then a 27 angled that's 45.5 inches tall 3.5 of crown then a 36 that goes back down to a 39 with 3.5 inches of crown...entry way. on the other side is a 36(same dimensions as other) a 27 same dimensions as other and a 9 that goes back down to a 39 with 3.5 inches of crown(down below is a 12) and the 36 cooktop and a 12 that's 39 with 3.5 inc of crown next a fridge back up to 45.5. Some cabinets are 7 from the cieling, the others are 3.5 away . Now the hood will have to be to ceiling with the 9 and the 12 6 inches below becuase of the return of the crown due to fridge. Is 45 too tall for 9 ft? and the cabinets are so little...I wish I could post my plan ...I've tried. thanks for responding. I hate my kitchen. I'm definitely in the obsessed catagory now :( We meet with the cabinet maker on Friday. Thanks all......See MoreKswl
