I have 5 gallon buckets with peppers and eggplants. I am trying some thing different this year. Lots of frost covers and cold frames. You appear to have completed what I am in the early stages of. What happened was going to look in the attic, but the light would not come on. He went to check the light bulb and noticed that the fixture was broken and hanging down I believe he said. It was fine in the past. The past person up there was doing a yearly inspection. So that company replaced the fixture. He is not an electrician, but I guess he knows enough to feel comfortable doing what he did. Not sure what wires he hooked up. I haven't been up there.

If I were building there would definitely be an overhead (not recessed) in every room! I love having an overhead on a dimmer in every room to add additional lighting to the table and floor lamps, and also for convenience when cleaning or just running in and out for something, but it also adds another decorative element to the room. Our LR doesn't have an overhead fixture - you can see where it was removed and the ceiling patched - and I think the room looks "unfinished" without it. It seems like an awful lot of empty space up there! We may have to take down the LR ceiling to do some structural work and if we do we're going to take that opportunity to put in the wiring for an overhead fixture. I would love to find a beautiful antique chandelier, but Rejuvenations has a couple I really like too. I don't think a chandelier looks odd in a LR at all as long as you pick the right one. I don't know if this is the case in your situation, but it is also pretty common for a central overhead box to be installed during construction even when there is no current plan for a fixture there, because it's such a stinker to do so later. The opening for the box could be covered by a nice ceiling medallion.

(you could prob move the light to the center if you like. but here are options for you: I think this is room is perfect for a swag rattan. or a pendant (but yes, move that tv and stick a nice plant in the corner) will you be having all white like shown? tons of sizes, colors and option. put a cute chair in the corner, some orchids on the rad cover, or something like this: bring in a natural color or white textured rug in fact, this cute chair, the wood stump plant stand, the wood framed art, would all look great as accessories in this room. look how they did the curtains and plants on the radiator cover some other vintage type of lighting and decor vintage stool w/plant in the corner, swag a light over that. . _ maybe a bench at the foot of the bed or maybe something like these. do a vintage type of chair in the corner. that dark wood piece doesn't fit.
