Help adding overhang/roof extension

We finished our house last year, but have discovered an issue that we would like some help with. We would like to add some kind of overhang over the big glass windows and slider on the north side of our great room. The slider had a wider jamb than we thought it would, so the solution was to bump out the wall 6". That and the northern exposure has caused a lot of snow to build up on that side in the winter. Also, we realize that we would get more use out of that slider if there was more of an overhang to protect against rain in the summer

So, we want to add a small 3'-6' overhang, just over the door and the large windows on either side. We have upper clerestory/transom windows with a view uphill to two mountain peaks. We realize we'll lose some of that from across the room, but want to maintain as much as possible. We will be adding a patio right outside the sliders.

Roof is standing seam, and the exposed rafters are structural.

Looking for ideas and inspirations!
