Name for new puppy!
Comments (22)Its between Bronson and Addai! I prefer Bronson.. sounds like a strong dog! Of course I'm losing b/c everyone around us seems to think Addai is great for a name. Luckily I'll be happy with either. Our new pup will be coming home Saturday morning!! I'm VERY VERY excited! I've been puppy proofing the house all week!(which actually has been great b/c it forces me to sorta "spring clean")...See MorePuppy names
Comments (7)Well we are keeping Peanut and we will keep him unless a friend of the family wants one. I think mom wants to keep him and the two of them are great buddies. Surprisingly he sleeps fine without his little brother, but he has to sleep on the bed with us and he shifts a lot trying to shove himself between and under pillows. I think he's trying to simulate sleeping at home with his mom and siblings. I'm taking stuffed toys and putting them around him when he lies down to make him comfortable. It is likely we are going to be keeping him. The name Punkin has grown on us so we are calling him Punkin. Two are more manageable than three. She has the most stamina and energy so after playing for a while Punkin will lie down for a rest and we'll put him up on the sofa or bed so she can't pester him. Peanut will play well by herself until she's tired and then we put her in her crate. She doesn't mind her crate, she is reluctant to come out once she's been napping in it. But she's like a child who says "I'm not sleepy" as they yawn while you put them to bed. She will whine and try to get her way but we are firm and try not to coddle or spoil her. All in all the stress level in the house has come down considerably. My brother says their little guy is doing well and has no accidents. We don't have accidents either. When they pee/poo on the carpet its completely intentional. They play outside and hold it until they come in, lol. We're being patient and will keep plugging along. Maybe I can get two to walk on a leash since three was impossible....See MoreWe brought the puppy home and her name is....
Comments (8)That's Auntie Flamey to you, CR! lol (Hey, Auntie Jodi said it, it has to be true.) :) Kismet sounds just adorable and I'm so glad you get to take her to work, that will be so good for her. She doesn't know yet just how lucky she is. I can't wait to see her photos. We need to find you someone who can knit her a wardrobe, winter's a coming! Gravey gets called Gravey Wavey, Scram Gravy (ain't wavey), Good Gravey, Oh My Gravey, Gravey Boat, all kinds of things, so I hear ya on the Kissy Kiss Kiss. lol...See MoreBest time to bring home new puppy?
Comments (17)Saltidawg, I am sorry you feel that way. I have a breed that was on the verge of extinction. I have flown over to Europe multiple times and brought pups back with me on the plane. Lovingly tucked into the seat beside me. How do you think most of the purebreeds got here to the USA to begin with? As there are only a handful that are native to the USA they have to get here somehow. I have buyers fly and drive to my home from states away in order to pick up their pups. A fabulous breed that was about to go by the wayside while people spend three times as much for a designer hybrid with no history , no health tests, no working or conformation tests. I consult with the president of the breed club in the native country on a regular basis to determine best breeding pairs, how to promote the best practices with regards to achieving genetic diversity. I participate in activities that my breed was bred for in order to make sure that my dogs are mentally and physically stimulated and are still up to performing the tasks they are intended for. I am also a breeder who will always take back any dog from my breeding. And am involved with breed rescue when needed. Personally I’m pretty thrilled that you and I have nothing to discuss. Unless your breed is a native to your country, you are relying on someone before you to have somehow gotten your breed into your hands. Or did they teleport? The ends justify the means?...See Moremtnrdredux_gw
