Never bought from Houzz before, though.

New home and I’m learning how to decorated this entry space. I’m happy with the top, but open to suggestions to make it better! For the table top, not sure what to add... maybe a lamp, lanterns or some sort of lighting? One thing or multiple things? What do you think?

What I would do: Relocate tree — it‘s so squished in. Lower mirror just a bit (and center it exactly over table). Rug. Add a lamp on table, they look so welcoming at night. For other tabletop decor … ideas are limitless. I would search for inspiration and find things that have meaning to you. Your room is very nicely neutral, so there are so many directions you could go. What styles do you like? How are your other rooms decorated? I think with a lamp, I’d add a pretty sculpture, or stack some books, or a plant. You could do candlesticks, books with cool bookends, a lovely vase. Vintage brass. So many possibilities!

I say try it. Right now you can’t really use that door anyway because of the shoe population. I see your dilemma. If you plan on staying in the condo long term, then perhaps have a professional give an opinion on more permanent and aesthetically pleasing solutions. I personally hate any double doors and would do what you’re thinking of. It will look better than what you have. Oh, please know I’m not meaning to insult your clutter. Trust me, I’m the last person to nag about that. (I also have double doors and only one gets used.)
