The "regular" bath layout that jensbride posted first is very similar to what our DD & DS shared for years and worked very well. The door, however, was a pocket style and placed directly across from the toilet. This allowed the vanity to be scooted around the corner to take up the whole wall. It leaves the toilet close to the tub, but with lots of elbow room. Our kids just learned to keep the door partially closed when the bath wasn't in use due to the "view".

If you are going to loose a vanity I’d suggest planning for additional storage or make up area where the chair is now. Otherwise, I’d suggest getting a few contractors to price your layout and show them a few pictures from your idea book that represent the level of finishes you’d be striving towards. Your bathroom ideabook is quite varied so I’d suggest creating one that is very specifically tailored to your ‘wish list’. Ideally, you’d work with a designer to draw up the space and specify all elements so the contractors can price accurately. For instance, I could see your elongated shower having a tiled in bench that is where the aquarium is now....maybe the shower is open on that side (no door) with just a straight glass panel running off the wing wall on the right.

Suggest a small white, cream or grey mat hung over tub which can be used for either tub or shower.
