Most of it is personal taste. Refrigerators create a strong seal when they're cycling, plus have heavy duty closures so that they won't be ajar. For them you need a sturdy pull with good screws and threads to make a secure handle. For a drop down door standard dishwasher you also need something that's well anchored, but some people just have a single knob. Whatever will give you good control will be fine. I don't know if there are particular considerations for dishdrawers, but I've seen them with regular drawer pulls. So long as they're not flimsy and are well secured you can pretty much choose whatever you want. But choose something that's easy to grab and pull on for frequently used things like fridges and dishwashers.

I asked about this in an earlier conversation and it seems that a six inch pull is not hefty enough, even if it is brass, as dishwashers seal tightly. A six inch pull is fine for the trash pull out. I suspect that the finish is polished chrome but the base metal is probably zinc in the pull you have chosen. Can you find an appliance pull that is close in appearance? I will be interested in what others have to say on this matter. The appliance pull that matches my hardware was ridiculously expensive. I was frustrated to have to pay so much for it.

These are Hamilton Sinkler AP116K.8. The K is for knurled, which is the same detail on my knobs. You probably can't see the knurled detail. The only reason I'm pointing it out is because you may be able to get the bead detail. These are 8" center to center, 9 5/8" total length. They do come bigger.

sherri - I saw those at Leevalley but didn't like the sqaureness of the handle part. They felt uncomfortable to me. Miss TKO - That oculus pull looks very similar! I don't know how I missed that one. I wonder if it's a more chunkier pull than the Aspen? Have you seen both? Can you comment on the differences? done-again - Please let me know when they arrive if they are that much different than the Aspen. They look very similar on the photos.
