Any ideas on wall decor for blank wall?

The blue and gold canvas I purchased to go above futton , but Im blank on what wall decor for blank joining wall! Any ideas?????? I ordered a black/white ottoman with stirage to sit either in front if futton or beliw the blank wall. Any arranging ideas appreceated ,also

Tree is too large for that corner. I would do some type of metal art on that wall so as not to compete with the blue art.

I think you can still get a contemporary look with multiple pieces, but they still need to be fairly large for that space. Maybe 3 vertical rectangular canvases hung next to each other. Or if you found 40x40" pieces that you love and can find 4 that look good together, hang them in a square with 2 up and 2 down. Or how about a contemporary canvas floor cloth or tapestry hung with clips from a curtain rod with cool modern finials? You could hang one or three depending on what you find. (Odd numbers seem to work best; 2 might feel like it's dividing the wall in half.) If you are creative you can create the canvases or floor cloths yourself, borrowing ideas you find online. Your ceilings are not really that high, don't worry about decorating all of the tall wall. I read here once that if you decorate nicely at the people level, your tall ceiling will make your space look nice and airy, not bare. I would do one or two big items like Olychick posted, there is not need to decorate the whole wall. Add some texture, color and height variation to your side table and coffee table and it will help anchor your "people" space.

You had a lot of wasted space the other way as well, truly you should add a chair to the other side. Because this looks amazing. you could make the chaise side longer now. The arcade games feel like part of the flow rather than baby in the corner. the room is rounded out. Dont be discouraged. lets see what some others think, i think its a vast improvement and seems much more cozy and inviting than before.

Thanks Beverly! Your mock ups are fantastic. I played around with the layout a lot when I was starting this room. Unfortunately, the small sofa I have is still too wide to rest near the window...it would basically be tucked into the corner and meet the window frame. As for the rug, I like your suggestions but the reason I chose the teal/turquoise rug is because the living room is open to the dining room and my dining chairs are a tealish blue velvet. I was trying to connect the rooms together. I really like your mock up of the small 6 frames and small floor lamp. It fills the space nicely.

You don't have to fill every wall. Might be a good time to slowly start collecting art pieces that you love ... buy them at art shows, antique stores, when traveling, etc. You can then do a gallery wall with the pieces you have collected.

And it doesn't just have to be art. I found this large 13" Moroccan brass door knocker at a store in LA and hung it as part of my large gallery wall.

I’d consider painting a vertical column floor to ceiling on that wall, and stacking black and white art on it. You can ensure getting a crisp line by painting the seam of the tape the same color as the wall. This will form a seal so that the new color won’t bleed under the tape.
