I’d move the stationary bike in front of the right pane of the window on the left with a plant in front of the left pane. Then a large mirror between the windows with a bench in front of it to hold water/towels. If the mat could be trimmed down a bit to fit in the corner on the right, the lifting bench could be placed diagonally on the mat, with a floor plant in the corner and the weight stand centered on the window. This would keep the pathway through the space open and outfit the designated gym space.

Seems like the two closets would give you plenty of towel/water space, even a mini fridge... take a door off........

It appears to be a walk way to an elevated patio? I wouldn't gym it up. Let people think its a stop gap vs a long term solution. What's happening in the family room while you work out?

IMO a mirror is a must in a gym I would however cover much more of the floor with mats maybe even those in a color . You need a place to stetch and do abs. The mat also protects the floor form a dropped weight . Towels are a thing you bring with you and take to the laundry after your work out. A water bottle holder in the closet is a good idea. Do you have a TV on the bike? I like a TV to watch while I am on the treadmill or bike. Maybe a cahir for a friend to visit whie you work out? I would not do too much decor in the space it is a gym .

Yes to the large mirror between the windows. I think you need large area rug or other floor covering to protect the floors in case you drop something. Would a console table fit at the top of the steps, or against the railing?

I’d address functionality first.

Then decide/work around, decor wise.

Keep it simple. Very large painting at the top of the stairs. Window shades in a color that compliments the painting. Mirror in between the windows. That's it. You are done.

It should be large enough to watch your form as you perform exercises. I would go big or go home. 😆

If a mirror is needed to check your form while exercising, the end wall may be a better location for the mirror. Need to figure out equipment/mat placement and where the exerciser can best see him/herself.

I'm missing something, couldn't you convert a bedroom to a home gym instead of having all that stuff in such a large open space? I think it looks terrible. IMO as people like to say!

I assume the only reason for a mirror is to monitor some aspect of your workout, so I'd make it plain and large. Otherwise, all art.

I would love to see a very dark paint color on the double window wall to start. Something to give the illusion of gym.
