help me design off center living room wall

Struggling to figure out how to decorate wall.. couch needs to stay in position as is; but how to keep everything looking off center that I hang ?? Maybe remove the clock at the peak ? , we had an air vent under the clock that was causing decorating hell.. with that now gone, still don’t have ideas .. any thoughts are appreciated!

Pretend the peak isn't there and that it's a flat ceiling from left to right walls. Decorate that and ignore the peak.

The clock should be lower, and not positioned based on the now-ignored peak. (Unless it's a large room and people are using it to check the time and need to see it!) The clock might end up looking too big once you move it down, though.

Even though you may think just the picture of the wall will suffice for good advice we really need to see the entire room to put that wall in perspective. It looks like you may have painted the wall on the right a different color. It looks gray and the sectional looks beige??

The clock needs to go. What is the opening on the left?

It would be quite easy to add a screen of some type behind the TV to hide electronics and make it look finished in the hallway. Lots of products out there. I think that is a better place for the TV than above the chimney and it might not be even safe above the chimney area. The pipe probably runs from the center of the fireplace up that right side of the build out. I would leave the area above the opening toward the ceiling open, but close the back of the area for the TV off, then you probably need to create a grommet in the top of that shelf to drop down cables and wires for the TV and perhaps some speaker wires? Not sure what you have. If you go to Home Depot or Lowe's you can go to their lumber area and see what panels could be used to close that off with something decorative.

Can we see the fireplace wall? I can help you with the track lighting. The first question I have is, is it on a dimmer? The second question is have you ever changed any of the light bulbs? Those look to be either MR16 or GU10 base, Im guessing GU base because I dont see a transformer on the fixture, (they have knoby prongs). The first thing you could do is install a dimmer, second lower the wattage, 3rd adjust the beam spread. Pendant lights would only look well if they actually could drop over something, like an end table, otherwise they will float around. As a side not almost any pendant can be converted to hang off track, as long as its not heavy. Another thing you could do is change the track to stainless steel, or to even a modern rail light system, or something else with adjustable heads. You could also install shallow housing recessed cans if room in the ceiling permits. The art wall is coming along but you need to either move or add a larger frame to the outside edge, and possible add a bit more to it. as it stands its not centered to the sofa. So it needs to be centered to the wall. Replace that tiny table thing, with a sofa table behind the couch and put the computer on that with a chair, or put an actual desk behind the sofa. with lamp to make it well, make sense or get an actual little desk back there. Add a floor reading lamp and a table lamp to sofa table. this gives you layers of light so you dont have to turn the track on all the time.

3 sets of bulky recliners for this small room? Sorry, but it's too much. But, if this is what you like and want, then forget about any coffee table or other design elements. just use this room as a media room. Since your sofa is off-set, you could put a side table in the corner with a tall table lamp or a few pendants lights. Pendant lights in the corner would eat up a portion of the blank space. Then consider doing a type of gallery wall or maybe something with shelving to display art. If you did a single canvas picture, it would look weird over the off-set couch, and weird centered on the wall. So, improvise. instead of a side table, you could do a large floor lamp, smaller tables like this in the center. or, gallery wall. if you did the entire wall, the offset sofa wouldn't matter

well, right now the settee looks too small and too high in front of the windows, and the blue sofa is too large on the wall. switch them around and take another picture maybe switch the end tables too. or stick a tall plant in the corner by the window and forgo the end table in that corner. You also need a large piece of art on that one wall (where you have the blue sofa. that wall is empty. could you move the chairs and the black console to that wall and the settee to where the black piece is? try these options and take pictures for us in the furture, you could do a sectional like this (or a small sofa and a few chairs) positioned like this against the back window. I mentioned art. you see how the art above the sofa adds something? and the plant in the corner? the etigiere is nice too if you can fit it on the end. another layout option when you're ready for newer items. I don't know if these chairs would be in the way by the stairway. you could put a chair under the window and one opposite. but again, notice the art and plants.

Did you just move the TV off that wall? Looks like a wall mount was on it. The TV is too large and high on the FP. Can the sectional be swung around to face that wall?

That spot is where we are in process of taking out the air vent that was there (still needs to be sanded and painted).. that was what disrupting the entire wall - was over 2ft long… moved vent lower behind couch .. tv is on other wall over fireplace

I would move the TV to that wall. Try using painters' tape for TV placement. Run a piece from the peak to the window wall (3 feet off the floor not up at the ceiling) then tape out the TV rectangle over it to see if you like the placement.
