Corner Cabinet Space Calculations and Analysis
Comments (66)This is the only website, where I've encountered any discussion about Asymmetrical Lazy Susans and the dreaded tight kitchen corner. Is the asymmetrical lazy susan a better option over the 33" lazy susan and/ or the blind corner cabinet? I know on paper, it should provide more visibility and accessibility, but does it, enough to make a difference? How much wider is the opening compared to the 33" lazy susan or 42" blind corner, exactly (my blind corner has a 12" opening)? Bottm line, is an asymmetrical lazy susan an improvement over other, not very good options? Is anyone aware of the possibility of custom asymmetrical lazy susans where a leg maybe up to 42" long? What would be the pros and cons of say a 42" x 32" asymmetrical cabinet? Does anyone have experience with this kind of cabinet, seen one in person? It's like pulling teeth to get any information. If it was a solution, you'd think it would be in demand and I'd find positive reviews from all the people who loathe blind corners and don't have an opening large enough for a pull-out. I have searched the internet and found nothing, no reviews or marketing, and one lonely image. I didn't even find much of anything for the 36/33 (alt 33/36) which I know is available from several name brands. I am just puzzled as to why there seems to be no consumer awareness. It makes me wonder what I am missing. Credit for photo goes to housemmo, sorry I cannot find the orignal thread....See MoreWhat tweaks would you make to this floorplan? (first-time builders)
Comments (37)We had our initial consult with the design/build rep yesterday! It's in fact a design/supply-materials company (Beaver Homes through Home Hardware, if any Canadians are familiar), but the rep is reaching out to general contractors to refer us to. My sister is currently acting as her own GC on a Beaver Homes build and we'd rather be more hands-off. Our discussion was mostly about the current difficulties in getting/estimating costs for materials & labour. It's sounding like it will be a long process, starting foundation work in the fall if all goes well... Then again, hunting for an existing home to buy has been a two-year process already with nothing to show for it! I sent a mockup of our proposed bathroom & mudroom orientation changes today. Blue rectangles = closets (9' x 5' master, 2' x 6' in other bedrooms, 3' x 4' in the mudroom) Brown rectangle in the mudroom = bench Beige rectangle = staircase Using the IKEA software so it's not exactly high-end! You'll notice that the ensuite bathroom remains! And I did remove the doggy shower from the mudroom, opting instead for a utility sink by the laundry which I think would be more versatile. Hopefully we'll get a basement plan from our contact soon for review by the Houzz team :)...See MoreDress update. Unfortunately.....
Comments (76)Maddie, thank you. You put a smile on my face. Approximate size: 4P or 6P ( this past year my bust size went up a cup, I think due to sagging) All previous dresses were 4P but this year I’m finding some 4P is right on the chest. Preferred color: I love pink and it's traditional MOB color. But, I am open to any pastel or pastel multi. Beggers can't be choosers:) I don't want to stand out which a bright fuchia or royal blue do. Preferred length: I think short. The midi length of this year below the knee. It winds up stopping at odd length on me. I imagine I could have it shortened. Fit and flair seems to work best. Although those last two dresses I wore were not. Sleeve length: I prefer sleeveless but could do cap sleeve. I'm open though. But no strapless (I'm not Katie Couric) Deal beakers: no plunging necklines. I prefer a soft flowy material. Prefer no sequence or beading. Mtn, yes, with what us going on with me, I need a bra! I think that covers it! Thank you all. I was starting to feel a bit down....See Moretrying to come up with menu for about 50 people
Comments (51)I think it is awesome you can gather that many people for a college graduation!! It is soo well deserved. It's just a truth that every spring the world is full of high school graduation parties, and they seem to be no expense spared occasions more and more. I don't think the occasion equals the celebrations that are hosted. Never have. It's a right of passage for sure but I don't see it as all that much of an accomplishment! I hoped to celebrate when the University graduations/first job occasions came along!!! THAT is an accomplishment and not a right of passage EVERYONE walks. But we found college grad celebrations are more of a challenge. Most of the people my offspring wanted to celebrate with were busy with their own families/packing/moving back or on to their new life. They weren't coming home they were off to new towns so gathering even family couldn't happen. We settled for a quick restaurant meal for as many as we could muster but it wasn't more than five beyond immediate family. Are they more important than weddings? Gosh I hope not!! That is a sad sad sad commentary on the state of families if so!!!!...See Morebbstx
