Here's the sofa area with the picture lowered and area filled out. Showing the addition of a coffee table in two shapes. And also trying lighter mats on the pics to brighten things up. I love what you have going. It just needs to be completed and filled out some : ) The colors are just gorgeous and make for a wonderful and comforting setting to spend time. You might want to start another thread, as this one is bogged down with a lot of pics. Also, once the images become oversized and the text doesn't wrap anymore, a lot of people won't look anymore as it can't be read easily.

oh no - the rugs i found quickly as examples. thank you Deeinohio for keeping me honest. I do LOVE the chairs. I was planning on painting the walls (they are yellow and basically like a baby poop accent wall) and had been thinking green, but then I need to buy a new couch or chairs at some point too and then I realized that fireplace will just not work with my green/red scheme and it will work with those fabulous chairs! I hope that makes sense. Plus, I could move that sectional in to where the brown leather chair is for now ( I was planning on the basement) and since those chairs are not estimated to go for too much, I could get going on the family room for not too much in furniture and of course try to find a rug that does not break the bank! I am still sorting things out in this house and have not committed to anything yet :) so I once I buy something it will send me down a path. I seem to be drawn lately to whole house color schemes and more relaxing spaces (with hints of color here and there) lately.

I presume you are wanting pillows to bring color and texture into your space and not because they are needed for comfort. In fact, those pillows look utterly uncomfortable placed on those chairs. Your furniture is nearly overstuffed and pillows are not needed and leave little room for a tush on the chair or sofas. Consider a throw on the sofa instead. If you want to bring some texture or warmth to the chair side of the room, maybe a different lamp with some texture to it that doesn't look so hard. Beautiful wall and trim color by the way.
