Dilemma: Furniture for oddly shaped Dining room

Hello and thank you for input!

We have very challenging layouts in our very 70's home.

Currently working on the Dining Room.

The space is 14' x '10, with a small cutout for stairs that go to a sunken Living Room.

Besides the stairs, there is a railing, huge sliding glass doors to back patio and a pocket door to kitchen.

The ceiling is also slanted with the low side about 8' and the high side about 16'.

Traditionally the dining table has been parallel to the low side.

Traffic pattern from kitchen to Living room or back patio is along the tall wall side.

(See photos)

We're thinking we need a narrow Dining table (max 40"), long enough to comfortably seat 8-10, possibly with bench seating along the wall side.

We'd like a tall shallow buffet/hutch (18" max, closer to 12" - 16" would be better) along the tall wall because we really need the storage for serving pieces, glassware, barware, and linens.

We'll replace/move the chandelier once we have a Dining table.
