12/20 Survivor finale

It's been a fun season. From hating on the quitters to some pretty good game play, it's been a better than average season, I think. I can see any of the remaining players winning, given circumstances and a somewhat bitter jury. Who do you like?

Dee has been a real player, calling the action. So has Julie. Jake has an idol to play tonight, and may benefit from the bitter jury rejecting others. Katurah has a great backstory, but hasn't done a lot. But she's smart. Austin, poor Austin, saw his game sorta slip away, no longer in control. All depends on who wins challenges and who can build fire.

Here's what Alison had to say in her interview afterwards. https://ew.com/tv/2018/12/20/survivor-david-vs-goliath-alison-raybould-finale/ "Wow. What happened to you up on that perch in the water? You couldn’t get your balance. What was going on? Well, first of all, I’m deathly afraid of heights. And so standing on a 15-foot-high whatever it was was just terrifying to me. But secondly, the last time I had eaten anything truly substantial was the wrap, which I vomited up. So I had reason to believe I had severe electrolyte abnormalities, including low magnesium. Which leads to muscle twitching. Which leads to me not being able to stand on a balance beam or all the endurance games that we had this season or the stand on a tiny perch in the middle above the water."

Ok, this is the only loved ones visit I actually liked! I was so happy that they let all of them stay - and that they included the other island players as well. Cute at the end when Boston Rob thanked Jeff and they all group hugged him. I agree about the whispering at tribal - the first time it happened was odd - now it's almost expected and it's annoying. It's much more interesting if something comes up and people start to look panicky at trying to figure out what to do - without whispering to everyone else. Survivor needs to stop allowing that to happen.

I just read the recap...and I also had the same thoughts.....but.....I don't think Erika is winning immunity challenges, finding idols....liked as much as Xander and Ricard. Erika might win..... After watching one of the Ponderosas, I don't remember which season.....it came to light that the tribe discussed who they were voting for long before they asked any questions at the last tribal....that people at Ponderosa could influence each other based on conversations that never aired.

@Jilly......We always comment on how "enhanced" the colors are. Your DH is right, = green screen. Sam has an outline....never noticed. There's sooooooooooo much going on. Sue's face looked cleaned up at one point too....then in another shot...her left temple was spotted red. Her skin is suffering. I keep looking at all the no-see-em's flea bites everyone has. Rachel has two on her right cheek.

Julie is an attorney! I didn't see that. I'm happy with who won. I wonder if the showmance has staying power...after the show. A new show, 46, starts February 28.

Hurray for Dee. She was rock solid the entire time. I did not watch until the bitter end. Did they ring out the early contestants, like the quitter?

Happy for Dee. I wonder if Dee and Austin will last.

In a way I was rooting for Jake. He was on his own most of the way.

Jake did what he had to do, and I think he was happy. He knew he didn't have the resume to win, but making fire was what he needed to do. And he did a great job of it, too. Austin's face when Dee told him that yes, she did tell Julie, that was priceless. He lost the million again right there, and Dee triumphed.

I was for Dee and Julie for weeks and always thought Jake was the one to go. But after his mistakes and his perseverance, I am happy at the final three and glad Dee won and Austin was second. I wonder if they are still a couple. I always wanted Julie too and surprise, she is a lawyer too...

Austin and Dee are either not together or pretending not to be.

Really, for the number of times she betrayed him for Julie and then used it to knock him down at the finale, she should start a romance with Julie.

What was up with Kaleb yelling "Jake!" when he went in to vote? I thought he was announcing that he was voting for Jake but then he voted for Dee. That wasn't cool.
