My Young Hydrangea 'Quick Fire'

The only other H. paniculata I've ever grown was a 'Tardiva' at my former garden and I cut it back every year and shaped it to a multistemmed tree form. But at my new place, I want my 'Quick Fire' just to be a large shrub. Any reason to cut it back every year? Or should I just let it be? At my age of nearly 80, I'd much rather do the latter.
