Fire and Ice VS Little Quick Fire
Comments (14)Thank you. I don't really care about fall color personally. The long cones of things like strawberry sundae I don't find attractive as I rather prefer the domed shape of Annabelle if she just wasn't so aggressive to take over real estate even after I thought I removed her. I also saw one photo that had a row of fire and ice and they looked a very blah shade of pink/beige and the florets were spaced far apart to make the scene all the worse.. Perhaps it was just a moment between two attractive colors, but it made me wonder what others have experienced. I look forward to any photos....See MoreLittle Quick Fire hydrangea question
Comments (10)They leaf out in March all the way down here so sometime in April/later makes sense for you. I have seen them leaf out as early as February in mild winters. If they do not leaf out or produce new growth by the end of May, then they did not make it. On its first Spring, times may be "off" from what would be normal times in your area... by a few weeks....See MoreLITTLE quick fire
Comments (10)Bobo hydrangea would be the perfect size, but it doesn’t turn as pink. But still a beautiful hydrangea! You could also try Invincibelle Ruby, extremely slow growing (for me at least) and a bit of a flopper after it rains, but pretty and a rebloomer. Comments (11)FrozeBudd, you are so funny - I used to be a big fan of the big mopheads, but over time, I like the more subtle look of QF and lacecap better now! LOL! How our taste changes over time, eh? BTW, your Moonrock is so tempting!!! I am kind of kicking myself for not gbetting one recently when it was on a huge sale at Can Tire! But honestly, I kind of ran out of space and time (!) in the current flower beds, and so I had to demonstrate some restraint LOL! But looking at this now, I just feel like kicking myself... LOL! But I do have to say that Little Hottie also has those lovely leaves that are similar to Moonrock too! Very substantial and healthy looking. I can't wait to find out how Little Hottie will do in our climate after the winter! BTW, all these PW hydrangeas get all of the attention but it seems like these other companies are producing something very interesting too! However, they don't seem to get half the attention though, probably due to marketing.... what a shame!...See Morejami_in_nys
