Little Quick Fire - Mature Size?
Comments (16)Yes, when I had better been tending that part of the garden, QF had reached a rambunctious 7 ft tall, last summer's intense heat and drought knocked it right back and this year it's down to about 4 ft and looking decent healthy for the neglected specimen it is and one in dire need of pruning! This is a vigorous shrub, though easily manageable with pruning!...See MoreLittle QF or Mini-Mauvette for foundation planting
Comments (24)Lucky you, hi_60. New stuff rather quick. I have not seen those guys locally yet. I figured stocks would be low and not heavily distributed everywhere. What's IGC, pennlake? I found weird matches for those letters. I assume a plant nursery?...See MoreLittle Quick Fire hydrangea question
Comments (10)They leaf out in March all the way down here so sometime in April/later makes sense for you. I have seen them leaf out as early as February in mild winters. If it were my bush I would leave it as it is, it needs as many branches and leaves to produce strong healthy growth. The horizontal growth will just be covered by the new branches, it isn't as if your hydrangea will continue growing out instead of up. Be patient - it looks healthy, just leave it alone to grow! It will grow into the normal size and shape with a little time....See MoreRelated Professionals
