How long is the settee and what is the table diameter?

I like the shape and color of the settee. Consider 3 matching chairs with a curved back to mimic the settee perhaps in a wicker or rattan to tie to the light.

Bring in touches of green - sofa pillows, rug, art work, etc.

I know that picture well and am in love with it. I think your setee is great. I’d get an oval tulip table and rethink your chairs to something more appropriate in size and feel with the settee.

I’d hang the light so the top of it skims the bottom of the window, so from your first photo something around there. Also, your settee should seat two, which means you’ve one too many chairs. If two don’t work because of the settee or the table I wouldn’t try to force it, give up the settee idea (this is from someone that loves banquette seating but it’s gotta be seating that actually works). And because the window is wide, I’d add a second piece of art to the one you have, something to expand that area to match the window and table widths.

The slipcovered chairs are the problem. They are too wrinkled looking and drape down to the floor. They make me think Halloween and that some kid is dressing up as a ghost. Not my house, so if you love them, that is all that matters. Instead, I've buy two chairs that match the one that you have there.

Wait, I'm looking again at the pic of the side view of the settee. The table and lamp set up is quite far away from it. Do you imagine the settee and picture wall as part of the dining set up? Or in your mind are these two separate areas?

I'd make a set up with the settee and an oval table like the pictures below. Add two chairs that are closer in style to the one current wood chair that is at your table - a low back and open feeling on the sides, yet complements the style of the rest of your space. Where is the settee from? Where is your is your fireplace area furniture from? I'd shop those same stores.

Waht possible use is the settee it does not work with the table and makes no sense in that spot IMO

I can’t return my round table. My sofas are from West Elm. Would if I had this setee? I have 4 of the wood chairs. Can I do a 6x9 rug or should I do round?

The rug needs to be big enough that the chair legs are still on it when they are moved out for people to get seated. 6x9 might be a bit too small.

Pull out the chairs and THEN place painters tape around the whole set up. That will tell you how big a rug you need. Many people skimp on rug size in these situations and then the chair legs keep getting caught on the edge of the area rug.

Just use the 4 chairs with the table and ditch the settee idea. IMO it just looks silly.

The first thing I noticed was the disconnect of items in the dining area, as well as the choices not relating to your entire room’s design. I’d step back and consider how to achieve a better connection overall.

The settee is not a great choice from both a practical and style perspective. Suggest holding off on art decision, to ensure its proportions/feel are suitable and contribute to the look. If budget allowed, consider how to have chairs relate better to each other (not a high priority). Given you are adding the Ballard rattan drum (assumed the one below), I’d use it and your table to inspire your direction (don’t suggest a rug).

Perfect… now just the banquette/settee and that shouldn’t be too difficult. A bench with a padded seat (washable cover) might be a good choice.

I was thinking banquette just to fill the space. I think my table is too small and I can’t return it.😞

How high is the adjacent window off the floor? Is there enough height to build in a banquette? If you have at least 17", you could have a 3-inch cushion made so the banquette height is at 20". If that's the case, then do that and get a longer table, either oval or rectangular to make everything more proportional. If you don't have enough height from the window, then get a longer settee with a rectangular/oval table.

You can still use your table (since you can’t return anyway) - the advantage of a long table is that more people can be accommodated on the banquette and visual balance. From a visual perspective to fill wall, adding large art and your plant will help and seating also won’t feel lost if too small.

Love the overall appearance and the finishes used. The light and the art will be tricky. Maybe the art needs to be larger.

Love woven reed light fixtures but the light coming from the shade can cast strange shadows.

I have this fixture over my bamboo timber table and I like the light better when it's not on. Maybe I need to dim the wattage.

I might mount the mirror on the wall because the glare from the window reflection is off-putting, and the arched mirror looks too low on the wall.

Should I raise the mirror about a foot?

I'm in agreement with you that the settee needs to be taller and longer so it's more visible behind the table. I love the style and color of it though, so something similar. I'd also love to see just two side chairs with that size table and prefer them to not be slipcovered. They seem too heavy feeling with the settee. I'd keep the plant directly on the floor and not on the stand. If you need your wall art to be larger you could add molding 3-4" around it to increase the visual size of it.
