Anyone use an electric blanket?
Comments (24)I have electric blankets, one in the house, one in the RV. Love them, but don't often leave them on after I get in bed. I warm the bed with it first. I also have a heated throw that sounds good right about now! And, somewhere, a down comforter that I really should dig out. I like your quilt! I am color challanged. I think my graphic artist DB got all the color talent. Picking colors/designs that go together is very difficult for me. You did a great job! I have two treadle machines, one belonged to DH's grandmother, the other was my great grandmothers. I also have my great aunt's electric portable Singer. DH won't let me use it because of the antient and deteriating cord. He is an electrician and says no way! I won't have it re-wired either. I also have my aunt's electric machine, with out going to the basement, I have no idea what brand. Those are my antique machines. I also have a Kenmore that I got as a graduation gift in 1977, and a Husvarna Viking 500. And a Brother PE-150 embroidery machine. I don't sew much any more. I got burned out sewing for the kids and myself for so many years when money was sooooo tight. I don't even want to look a a machine much any more! Loved meeting you in your video! Comments (11)Hi rnmom. Below is my recent addition to my post on the other side that forboystoo linked. Check the last sentence...it may apply to you or others here. *********************************************** Hi all, Wanted come back and tell you I found a perfectly suitable blanket at JCP. It's a Serta brand and unlike the Sunbeam from Costco, it does heat quickly and well. I love that it's light weight( maybe due to cheaper materiel...I don't care!) and doesn't add much weight under my lovely, floaty down comforter. FYI, I got a queen for our king bed, just to have less to deal with. the length is fine, and there's very little over-hang on the sides and that suits me perfectly. I also realized why I prefer a blanket to a mattress warmer. I can get away from the heat, instantly, whenever I want....See MoreAnother electric mattress pad question please
Comments (14)OMG, the heated mattress pad is the best thing since sliced bread~~~LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT~~~~ I hate cold sheets. DH's side never gets turned on because he is cold blooded....but I use it all the time to warm up my side and turn it off before I go to sleep....sure does help those old "arthur joints". I got mine from Penney's. I hope you enjoy yours....See Moreheated blanket & mattress pad both on LOW at same time?
Comments (15)I think it would be fine. I can get very cold in deep winter and have always used a heated mattress pad which sometimes is on high all night. I also have 2 blankets and a heavy fake fur throw on top of me. I have at times thought about getting an electric blanket too but I don't like feeling wires with my toes when I've used them in the past. I like the house to be quite cold at night, 60 is nice. Then I can turn the fire on in the morning and that is cozy....See More- last year
