How do I fix this temporary until I can replace the wood fully
Comments (9)There was a wall taken out that is directly opposite from where the floor is damaged the wall was taken down due to mold , I think there was some spotting in the ceiling so I would assume it was from above but the answer or question is , For a temporary cover up aka fix What could I possibly use to cover or treat the area in order to lay down stick tile? We are aware it is done for but unfortunately we lost everything we owned from our business , car , previous home , And our family due to unforeseen circumstances and we have been house ridden in depression and We are now in a rental that is extremely affordable and made the agreement that we can work on it in exchange for a discounted rent . So far we have repainted, Torn up the entire carpet , Laid down the new tile in dining room , Took down the old discusting ceiling fans ,Put new blinds over all the windows, Attempted to put updated window treatments but It looks cheesy and I want to return them I tried to get the question out here on what I needed to In reference to color schemes, Placements of everything as well as helping me pick out furniture from Wayfair and rooms to go for which I have a credit card of 10000 and can pickup anything that I'm being told to. But people keep telling me I'm doing my posts wrong and in pretty much trying to take all the pictures I can and asking to decorate my house but I'm. It getting a reply I'm getting tossed in different directions, When I tell everyone I need help from top to bottom with everything from color of a lamp down to the nitty gritty I need to know I will go buy it and do it! So I've provided pics of everything I Have Please help me fix what I can and buy what will look good ! It will mean so much to see all your nings going to work !...See MoreHelp! Comments (19)I'm so grateful for this community! Denise, I love your ideas! I was trying to figure out where my office would go b/c I work from home. I'm sold on the hallway solution as well as opening up the space by installing either french doors or sliders as well as openings in the walls separating the kitchen & office from the living area. I'm also contemplating vaulting the ceiling to further open up the space. I could honestly go either way on the entrance. Whether I go with moving it to the office and installing large, double doors or leave it be will depend on where my budget is at after I fix the layout and redo the kitchen (shudder), master bath, guest bath, and install hardwoods. I took a chance and posted for the first time ever the other day because I was struggling to visualize how this space could be fully optimized. All of you have really helped me out with creative & lovely design ideas and encouragement! My place is 1855 sq ft on a 1/2 acre lot so there's no reason this house should be burdened by numerous small, dark rooms As an FYI, I'm a lawyer. That said, while I know my square footage is correct my room measurements are off. How much I'm not sure yet, but I know the living room is small, the "office" space is even smaller & at one time was used as a breakfast nook. The bedrooms and bathrooms are also small! For example, the master bath is just over 50 sq ft (!!!!). xoxo!!! Natasha...See MoreHow do I fix this color mis-match?
Comments (30)3000 k is what I generally recommend when people have chosen warm colors / fall colors and want a more relaxed feeling in their home. This may be contributing to the yellow in the countertop, but it is softening the pink in the cabinet and wall color, adding yellow, making it appear more beige, less pink or violet. This is similar to lighting when the sun is just beginning to set. Photographers refer to this light as the golden hour. 4000 k is middle of the road - often the go to by designers as not too warm nor too cool. It is the color of sunlight in late afternoon, not as blue as 2:00 in the afternoon nor as yellow as sunset. 5000k is referred to as a daylight bulb. It is the color of sunlight at about 2:00 in the afternoon on a clear day. It is the color of a flash bulb on a camera. It is the color I use in my home, allowing me to see colors accurately and complementing the colors I love (purples, teals and wine reds (violet reds vs orange reds). Purple and yellow are complements so any yellow in my lighting will make my purple colors appear muddy. This will make your wall color and white brighter and more pink/violet since it does not have the yellow cast, but will make your counter appear whiter, less yellow. Using 4000k or 5000k under cabinet lighting that only hits the countertop while keeping the 3000 k top hats may cool the counter without impacting the cabinets and walls. This could help fix the problem when the lights are all on....See MoreHow do I fix this door?
Comments (5)I think they did a good job. It is hard to make something look right when its not. With a door you need to make sure the door jam is plumb and the header is level and at a 90 degree corner to each other. without this, a lot of things go wrong with the function. With all that explained, the only thing a carpenter can do is mess with the bottom if the door. Some adjustability is built into the door, but is limited. Remember, people look up most of the time, and even if they do look down, its an expectation of an old house....See MoreDyan Weis
