Please help! Will this cabinet go with Taj Mahal

I am purchasing Waypoint cabinets in the painted linen. Picture of cabinet with Taj Mahal in background below. The only other whitish color cabinet Waypoint sells is called painted vanilla which I am not crazy about. This painted linen cabinet is just a little softer than bright white.

I love the Taj Mahal and wondering if these look good together? I will take cabinet to the slab yard. The woman working there was trying to talk me into the white quartz but I was like…”I love the Taj!” Thank you so much for your advice!

Tricia. The Taj will be beautiful! All neutrals so get what you want. You can add accessories such as wood cutting boards etc to soften whites and it will be gorgeous. I have had Taj and we LOVED it. I would use it again any day.

Remember, the “view” from afar of the Taj will primarily be sides of the stone too. So the contrast will be just right.

I think the colors you chose which you show on the back wall are too dark with the dark cabinets. Regardless, anybody can say, "oh, this is the perfect color for your space". Until you sample as you know. I think you could go a shade or two lighter. The bulbs you choose for the cans make a huge different and natural light as well. High up things will look a bit different than lower and..... I just completed a space in City Loft, it was very pretty and it is a white, but a cool light gray and in the space didn't lean in any direction except gray with a lot of natural light and a lot of cans and pendants over an island. Silver plate a is a beautiful, slightly cool gray that hits JUST the spot when you’re looking for a gray that isn’t too ‘this’ or too ‘that’. Again, any paint needs to be tested in your own space. It's a daunting task, but worth it! Silver plate can be very pretty with very good amount of light or it falls battle ship. close x

I have a similar problem. I moved into a home with Taj Mahal quartzite, need to paint cabinets and picked white dove but want to have accent color on the island. My backsplash is an ivory glass tile which looks pretty minty green. Any moody blue to try and bring some blue into the room? I was looking at trout gray or wolf gray. Will this look terrible? Also I’m thinking satin bronze pulls to bring out the gold in the Taj Mahal.

After many hours of reading posts on Houzz about EVERYTHING from appliances to paint, countertops, backsplash, sinks, faucets, pantry’s etc. I thought I’d thank the community here and share a pic of the final outcome of our remodel. The wall cabinets and trim are painted to match the cabinetry and trim in joining rooms but it’s basically SW Alabaster. The range hood is repurposed from an old antique carved mahogany fireplace mantle I found. I love my Taj Majal countertops and sealed them with “Granite Gold” sealer but now I’m considering having them professionally sealed as I was juicing carrots one day, spilled a little of the juice and although I wiped it up immediately I could see where some of it was absorbed into the stone. I tried to remove it with several different things to no avail. It’s not terrible but I know it’s there and I have yet to find anything to get it out. I’m now shopping window blinds and I’m sure with the help on Houzz I’ll find something appropriate. Anyway, hope the pic helps you or someone out there! Good luck!

Based on the image you posted - and bearing in mind differences in lighting and monitors, etc... Your stone looks like it's in the same territory as SW 7036 Accessible Beige, so color card 249, and SW 7035 Aesthetic White, color card 259. There are definitely green undertones to your slab, and you could absolutely look for greens that work, something like SW 6171 Chatroom. Green can also give you an entree into some blues, but you have to choose a blue-grey with green undertones, and there are definitely limits to what ultimately will work, SW 6479 Drizzle, for example.

If you use the slab as backsplash it'll be very dramatic.

We are using Taj Mahal for the 3rd time. The first two were with white/cream cabinets, and this time with soft green cabinets. Also using it for backsplash instead of tile. Can‘t wait til its installed!

We looked at many other stones, but always seem to come back to Taj.

Awesome, msuvig, using for backsplash too is going to be amazing. Make sure you help fabricator select proper templating for backsplash. Take photos of what you agree to (blue tape sections for use on backsplash.).

I hear they can be pricey but worth it! Any tips on getting a good price?

I would love to use it as a backsplash but will have to see if I can work it into my budget. Great advice to use blue tape and take photos!

Definitely the Taj Mahal! It has so much depth and beauty compared to the quartz.

I wouldn't focus on price as much as the fabricator and installer. Get quality craftsmen to work on a quality stone, and if it's within your budget, don't worry about price. (Easy for me to say, right?) The worst situation is having a beautiful material ruined by poor workmanship just to save a few bucks. You see it all the time here on the DDs, horrible workmanship and very unhappy homeowners.

Love Taj Mahal. Before anything else? Are you building, or remodeling? Do you have a layout? By layout I mean the cabinet plan, 2 dimensional, flat on paper very boring, informative plan with all the feet and inches. ?

Before cabinets, before counter tops, that is the SINGLE most important thing in any kitchen, anywhere.

Again.... the most important? Layout. : ) Also, we've no clue build or remodel, nor the flooring.

" the saleswoman was trying to talk me into white Quartz......." Why? Did she know something we do not?

Seems highly unusual, to me.

Once again, Jan beat me to it! That Taj is stunning and white ( off white ) is neutral - so they will be great together.

I , too, am curious as to why she would try to talk you out of it. That is suspicious. They may not be good at fabricating it. I would shop around a little.

If that Taj is leathered? That could be EXACTLY why. My own fabricator resists, it is very fragile until installed in your home. They don't like the potential ruin in the process of cut and finish edge
