Paint Design Dilemma Kitchens

Need help with best paint color to go with Taj Mahal quartzite!

I am redoing my kitchen and have reached my wits end. I am getting Taj Mahal quartzite for my island and countertops. My walls are revere pewter and my ceiling and crown moldings are white. I am painting my cabinets and can’t decide on the right color. I have ruled out white, but i do want a light color on the cabinets. Any suggestions?

Any white but a very harsh cold gray white. You perhaps aren't going to love your wall color. White cabinets are fine with Taj : ) Ben Moore "Simply White" below w/taj mahal

After many hours of reading posts on Houzz about EVERYTHING from appliances to paint, countertops, backsplash, sinks, faucets, pantry’s etc. I thought I’d thank the community here and share a pic of the final outcome of our remodel. The wall cabinets and trim are painted to match the cabinetry and trim in joining rooms but it’s basically SW Alabaster. The range hood is repurposed from an old antique carved mahogany fireplace mantle I found. I love my Taj Majal countertops and sealed them with “Granite Gold” sealer but now I’m considering having them professionally sealed as I was juicing carrots one day, spilled a little of the juice and although I wiped it up immediately I could see where some of it was absorbed into the stone. I tried to remove it with several different things to no avail. It’s not terrible but I know it’s there and I have yet to find anything to get it out. I’m now shopping window blinds and I’m sure with the help on Houzz I’ll find something appropriate. Anyway, hope the pic helps you or someone out there! Good luck!

We used BM White Dove In different sheens on the walls and woodwork to complement the polished TM Counters (but we have natural wood cabs). Our kitchen has north facing windows with lots of green trees. We compensated for the low light with 3000K (the warm-ish colored not the blue-ish colored) LED undercab and in cab lighting and sconces etc. The updated kitchen doesn’t seem dark or gray now which I was concerned about. I would definitely wait until you have the cabs installed, the counter in and some of the lighting wired in before choosing the backsplash. I was very surprised at how my original white tile choices didn’t do a thing for my counters and cabinets. good luck!

Nobody asked for the full context. I did, as she wrote"my floor is ceramic beige and cream tones" Call it big trouble in "river city" .....from her private message. Wait until the op returns. Paint is the least of the issue right now. To others.......... When we prod and poke beyond your obvious question? We do it for a reason, and it isn't to annoy you. Ask FIRST before major investments in any partial refresh of anything. : ) but especially kitchens and baths.

Thank you both! Jan, why do you think I will not like the revere pewter? I love the color in all of my other rooms. Do you think it will look bad with the Taj Mahal? Any other suggestions for wall color?

I don't think having it on the wall & your cabinets would be good. Maybe look at Edgecomb Gray which is similar, but lighter.

Hello all, I have the opposite situation. Don’t want to hijack the thread, but I have edgecombe gray walls, travertine floors, white dove perimeter cabinets with Taj Mahal countertops. Do you think revere pewter would be a good ISLAND color for this combination??

I have a similar problem. I moved into a home with Taj Mahal quartzite, need to paint cabinets and picked white dove but want to have accent color on the island. My backsplash is an ivory glass tile which looks pretty minty green. Any moody blue to try and bring some blue into the room? I was looking at trout gray or wolf gray. Will this look terrible? Also I’m thinking satin bronze pulls to bring out the gold in the Taj Mahal.

I have White Dove cabinets with Taj Mahal counters. I’m thinking wall paint with a green tint could be nice. Any suggestions?

@ssp9663 - What did you ultimately decide to go with on your cabinets? I have the same colors; Taj Mahal on countertops, Revere Pewter (@ 75% strength) on the walls and I've got what a friend calls paralysis by analysis about choosing paint color for cabinets as well as backsplash tiles. Any suggestions from any of you? TIA!

LOL! Our kitchen is in complete disarray right now - doors are off the cabinets as we are waiting on new doors to be installed. Taj Mahal will be installed this week. I definitely won't be posting pics of this mess!
