What can you tell me about these varieties?
Comments (14)Windeaux- Thanks. I def don't want to pay for 2 varieties of the same rose if Kaiserin Friedrich and E Veyrath Hermanos are the same. And I do have MFK, and don't like her veggie centers! Don't want another. Masha- Thanks. I would've been super dissapointed to get a pink HT. (shudder!) Lux- I hope to goodness that I remember to feed these babies. I've lost so many bands over the last couple of years because I was scared to over fertilize. Then they are too small to make the winter. I may actually spray the babies to help them grow, too. My rose garden back in 2005 seemed fully mature after 2 years because I was spraying and fertilizing. Nowadays it takes much much longer for my roses to grow. I have the roses you've listed except for Anna Oliver which I've ordered over and over only to be told they are out of stock. Tried again this time though! Harborrose- I'm hoping the angular thing was just the "teenage awkwardness" stage. I've had teas start out that way on their way to huge monsterous beautiful bushes. Are there any of the climbers that have growth thick and sturdy enough to self support? Which of the climbers are super duper flexible and need to be tied up? I'm running out of climbing space but thinking of setting some of them in areas where there is no actual support but where they will be able to "get a leg up" by throwing canes onto mature plants around them (and short growing stubby pine trees behind them). I've done that with a couple of other climbers with great effects but I think the stems have to be really sturdy....See MoreCan you ID these dahlias for me please?
Comments (4)Oooh those I'd call Pretty and Prettier. The red one looks so familiar- is it red and white, or really red and yellow as it appears here? I would not call red a cactus, the split frilly petal tips would make me call it a laciniate; and a pretty laciniate at that. The gorgeous grape one looks too deep for waterlily, maybe a formal decorative, I don't know. See the guides at the link, but I couldn't get each individual link there to work this a.m. Maybe you'll have better luck. Comments (2)It is a lovely iris. Nice form. Unfortunately the pictures are 30kb or less so possible helpful data is lost. Pictures from every angle (excellent stalk shot) that are 150-200kb after cropping would be better (nice cropping). The bad news is nothing unusual with this pretty iris to distinguish it. Here are measures to take if your heart is set on knowing its name. http://forums.gardenweb.com/discussions/3775409/id-of-this-peach-iris?n=4...See MoreIs it true you can tell the variety from the leaf?
Comments (3)I don't think anyone can definitely identify a variety of fig simply by the appearance of a few young leaves. However, there are more experienced and knowledgeable growers than I that occasionally visit this forum and they may shed some light on what types you have there. My guess is that it will be a while before you know, if ever because there are so many different kinds. In my opinion, if you have unknown plants the best you can hope for is that they are vigorous, hardy and produce good fruit....See Moredaleyc
