Where did my leaves go?
Comments (6)Highly doubtful of a mouse, my cats have proven they are very good mousers. there is a door to a crawlspace right there though so I could duct tape it off and see if that helps. I did see a centipede down there the other day when I was moving trays around a little-could that be a potential culprit? It is my laundry room in the basement, I was worried my cats would be the ones wreaking havoc but they have ignored it so far....See MoreNew: OBF - March Swap: Our Green Garden Friends
Comments (86)Hi All, Not much going one here, just work, cleaning, etc. boring stuff. It will be exciting this week though. I'm going to a beer tasting/education on Tues. I have a web site meeting on Thurs. On Friday I'm going to Gardenscape which is the Rochester garden show I attend every year. It is a really nice one! I will also be working it too for the Rock Garden Society. Dottie, Congrats on the grandson! Lol, about getting over excited about the sprouts. Lettuce, broccoli family plants, and violas are very tough and can handle light freezes when they are babies. So you can take the lids off, but if it is going to dip really low like you said, you will need to re-cap them. Marie, I'm glad to hear of the good news!! Do we all have the wrong address now? lol. Your bloom is gorgeous! 4 years, you are a patient woman. Jeanne, Are those pics of flowers blooming now with your garden critters? If so I'm very jealous! Here's my stab at Carol's questions. 1. I have a statue overlooking my garden what is it ? gargoyle - I have one out front for Gary so I'll guess the same 2. I have several statues and faces of my favorite animal in my gardens what is it any how many do I have ? Wolves 10 3. my no tresspassing sign says violaters will be shot, survivors will be _____ ______? Shot Again 4. a critter climbs my fence and eats my cat food every night. what is it ? Raccoon 5. I have a critter key holder in my garden. what is the critter ? Frog 6. I have 9 windchimes 4 are ? butterflies 7. 1 is wolf 8.1. is ? frog 9 1 is ? abstract Talk to you all later, Remy...See MoreSo how many did you get?
Comments (50)well last year we got one or 2, I always see this one cute little boy that lives up the street he comes by every year and he came again this year he was dressed up in a black cape and had glow in the dark paint on his face like a skeleton very cute it actually scared me when I opened the door. On a sad note his father passed away suddenly in his sleep a few months ago and the man was only in his 40's. Mom was with him last night and was also in costume. She is always so sweet. This year we had 5 groups so quite a bit more for us, probably 8 in all. One little girl dressed as a princess was oh so cute she wanted to come in and play with my little dog, I had her all dressed up in her princess dress too LOL. We had them till around 9pm they started I think about 7pm which is pretty normal here....See Morewhat's your favorite Halloween memory?
Comments (15)How can you pick only one? Of course, every memory of my daughter's Halloweens when she was little are precious. One year SHE chose to be Harpo--my sister introduced her to the Marx Bros. It was an easy costume to make. None of her school friends 'got it', but when we were out trick or treating some high school kids drove by and yelled, "Hey, Harpo" at her--made her day! And what a delight--she had to be quiet all afternoon-LOL. One year she was the Queen of Hearts and kept telling all the homeowners we visited, "Off with their Heads", instead of 'thank you'! One Mischief Night, DH and I were driving home, on a residential street. At the other end of the block, we could see a large bunch of older teens (probably aged 15-18). You could just tell they were up to no good, but we couldn't turn around at that point. Just when we drew up even with them? a tiny little ghost rose up over our car! They had it rigged over a tree branch with string. It was the CUTEST, most unexpected prank I've ever seen. Of course, no one could top my dad and FIL for their Halloween pranks when they were kids--they'd tie 2 trash cans (metal in those days) together with rope, one on each side of the street, and hide in the bushes. When a car went by, they'd pull the rope up so it would catch on the front bumper and the cars would be trailing the cans behind them. They'd put neighbors' porch furniture on their porch roofs. And sooner or later they'd get caught and have to go to the police station, where there was a long line of chairs. You sat in the last one, and everytime someone else got brought in, you'd get to move one chair closer to the exit (a sort of 'muscial chairs' penalty)...See Moremxk3 z5b_MI
