Hi fori, You're correct about the placement of the door. Yes, a tub is required. Either of the areas marked "STORE" could be removed, therefore moving the door, but the wall cavity adjacent to the toilet cannot be moved -- it contains the plumbing stack. Any or all of the fixtures can be moved, but any other placement of the tub will cause the window to be half inside and half outside of the stall. So, I'd like to make this arrangement work somehow. You’re not talking about tweaks here. Tweaks are going to a single large garage door from two small ones. Or making the windows 6/6 instead of 3/1. You need to start over with a completely blank sheet of paper. On that paper, you start a list in 2 columns. Need. Want. Then you take that list and a copy of your survey and go talk to architects. Ask them do they see getting 95% of the true needs and 30% of the wants on that lot. The ones that tell you , “Yes, but you are going to have to make some sacrifices and stop interpreting a need as a want, because it IS not a need”—-those honest folks are the ones that you go walk the land with. There’s one of those that can make you a great house. But it won’t be a spec house. It will probably still have a lot of mass appeal, because good design is more appealing than the dreck you’ve shown. And it will appreciate enough that you won’t lose money when you go to sell. But you can’t design a house for mass market and to fit your family also as a money making venture. One or the other gets the short end of the stick. Why that should be your family instead of your wallet is a whole year of therapy on a couch. A spec house is purely for sale, at a profit. The cheapest allowable choices are what go into a spec house. A 13 SEER HVAC. No radiant heated bathroom floors. No $3000 chandeliers. No wood salvaged from your grandfathers barn. Nothing personal or emotional. A spec house is a cold cool gray financial decision. A residence is a warm luggage tan heart decision. The two clash right off the bat. Only the skills of a talented professional can help you to combine elements of both and not have it be a complete disaster.

There's no such thing as truly free advice. If you post here, you "pay" by having to have a thick skin, not having control of where comments go, not having control of how they're delivered, and having to wade through conflicting and bad advice to get to a few gems. That said, you're not paying actual dollars and you're getting professional and high-level amateur feedback, so I'm of the view that you shouldn't complain about the "price." (Idioms about gift horses and mouths and free lunches come to mind). Ignore the irrelevant, wrong, and insensitively delivered advice if you like, take what's of value, and be glad this forum exists. Or at least that's what I remind myself. When I've posted my plan I've gotten all sorts of comments; while the negative (especially the unnecessarily rude, irrelevant, and wrong) can be painful, it's more than outweighed by the valuable comments I've gotten.

Those Pax wardrobes are fabulous storage options. I'd go with white, for sure. The Pax didn't work in our bedroom but I think it's partly because they were at the entrance of the room. Surrounding the window as you have it in your layout would work heaps better. They look great in Lyfia's pics. I'm also short and feel claustrophobic with tall furniture so that's my bias.
