Comments (16)Carol, I used to live in a house with about 50 rose bushes. It had about 25 when we moved in, and I planted the rest. We once had a man stop by to ask for a clipping of one of the bushes, saying it was grown from a rose given by his Argentinian father to his mother when he proposed! I tried to plant more drought tolerant flowers in this house, but there's nothing like roses for sheer beauty and long term flowering, is there? Thanks for the responses, everyone, that was very helpful! I'm still not convinced about the red and yellow one. The coloring is like glowing embers, it really looks like the rose is lit from within. Anyone else think of a scarlet rose with a flame yellow heart, please let me know! KC...See MoreSome of my 2018 roses and some of my other flowers...and some dogs
Comments (16)I'm out early to knock the Japanese beetles into a Mason jar filled with soapy water. I repeat the hunt in late afternoon but at that time of day they seem to have faster reflexes and many escape.. Nothing but the best for my JB's; they get Ivory Liquid. Seems to work best if I just squirt enough to create a good layer on the surface of the water. I don't mix the soap in. Brittanys are SUCH cool dogs. Loved seeing the photos of yours. And you are off to a spectacular start with your roses. Your husband should be very impressed!...See MoreThis is a tour of some of my gardens. Hope everyone enjoys
Comments (21)Glen thanks for sharing. It’s such fun to “visit” other gardens. I eny your tomato plants right now. I planted some seedlings for a fall crop and some damn caterpillar, probably cutworm, ate all the leaves overnight. All six tomato plants! I left them in hoping some may recover. Deb I so agree about the full sun comment. I remind people that we are 800 miles closer to the equator here in North FL so the sun is more direct....See Moremoonzie_zone8
