Can you create a silky wallpaper effect with satin paint?

Is it reasonable to create a wallpaper effect with one color of satin paint on smooth walls, using a paintbrush?

I painted a sample of satin SW Fleur de sel (pale aqua-gray) on a smooth wall with old rolled paint. I liked the reflection of light on the vertical brush strokes. It reminded me of wallpaper.

Is there a brush technique I can use to make this consistent and professional looking?

I will get a do-over in a few years after the walls are skimcoated. I had planned to use a sprayer for that, but if I can get good at this strie effect on the current walls, I may choose that for the living areas. The lines don’t have to be perfectly vertical or perfectly straight. It could be more like a blended blurred moire with textural streaks. (Sorry, I can’t get a good picture of it.)

I prefer not to do wallpaper since it is very hard to find the right ”near-white” color for this room. It gets a lot of different light colors from outside.

Thanks!
