Accidentally added too much sugar to bread

Surprisingly, it came out really good -- better than the recipe actually. This was challah bread, recipe calls for 1/2 c sugar to 3.5 c regular flour; I wasn't paying attention to my utensils and ended up sing 1/3 c sugar. I was wondering why the dough was so sticky, maybe it was that or the fact it's humid and been raining all day, or maybe both - I really don't know. But I actually liked the texture more, it was a little softer. So I'm thinking maybe just increase to 1/3 c from now on but part of me thinks I just got lucky this time. What say ye bread experts -- fluke or ok to increase the sugar in the recipe?
