need rolltop desk decor ideas
Comments (4)Don't know how deep the top of the desk is but here are some ideas: small globes (vintage would be great!)surrounded by framed antique map prints, some nice old leather bound books held by book ends, old photos (sepia/black&white) in nice frames--you could place them on stacked books of different heights, a small plant in a really nice planter/vase, a nice decorative box, a pretty tole tray displayed on a small easel, some vintage inkwells/fountain pens, a small antique typewriter....See MoreNew Desk, Need Office Decor
Comments (10)Nice desk and you have a good space! Ergonomically -- Make sure your chair is adjustable in height, for best comfort and functionality. Also, if you get a chair with arms, and it is adjusted to the height for you to work at the desk, will it fit far enough under so that you don't have to lean forward to type, write, etc. With that carpet, you'll want casters on your chair to prevent snagging the carpet. It looks like a Berber weave, which snags easily (I speak from experience, having had that style in my previous home library). For decor -- Do you need any shelf space over the desk? Floating wall shelves can be installed in multiple sizes/arrangement and can be used to mix practical (books) with decorative objects, art or photos. After you decide what to put on the walls, consider a good desk lamp that is both functional and nice. You'll likely want a nice trashcan for paper, and perhaps a small paper shredder. Mine is very small and discreet, as I shred the occasional paper and credit card. Do you need a printer and table for it?...See Morehelp decorate our new sunroom. Help Decorate our sunroom
Comments (4)We need a little more info but first IMO you need some sort of heat and light blocking so solar shades would be a nice choice and a floor plan with as much detail as possible like the measurements of all the spaces and doorways for sure . Is the sofa staying, is that a good indication of your style. Some pics of the other spaces in the home would be helpful...See MoreDecorating a home office with beige carpet, bamboo desk and red chair
Comments (11)@JustMe Here is a rough drawing with dimensions of the office. My desk is on the longest wall. The window at the bottom of the drawing. My desk is about 72" and I've been seriously thinking of getting a different wood desk top that is smaller at about 63" to fit on that wall space next to the door. Something like a mesquite desktop or something. My desk is a standing desk so I'll be keeping the black base. The reason why I didn't put my desk against the window is mainly because of the giant monitor that is on an arm that wouldn't let me look outside anyways but I'm open to options. I do really think that my desk is way to big though. Also, the closet(which is at the bottom left of the picture in case its hard to tell has built in bookshelves. Although shelve space is always good, I've been looking at tons of wall shelves to utilize the vertical space more. I also added some more offices I liked to my profile. I'm a big fan of the contrasting natural colors and I want to incorporate live plants and such as well....See Moreshirlpp
