New home construction - researching prefab methods

rogerc

We just purchased 3 acres in Santa Rosa California overlooking the Northern Coast Mountain Ranges and are planning to build as soon as possible. We're not committed to any construction method yet, but have had a long-standing interest in Prefab and have researched a broad scope of options, including; volumetric modular, panelized, steel-frame and wood-frame kits, 3D printing, and various wall-construction products using prefabricated forms.

We'd be very interested in hearing the experience of others who have built using some degree of prefab.

Which product did you use? What went particularly well? What didn't? How did you feel about speed of construction, cost and value? What has been your experience after living in the home for a while? We appreciate any feedback! :)
