Tenant let the lawn die, never watered. Had to hand shovel so as not to disturb the sprinkler, put in gravel borders and gravel front yard. But....the roses are fine. :0)

Jasdip, I’ve been in Jasper National Park for the past couple of weeks and had lunch in town on Wednesday. The Rocky Mountaineer rolled in while we were eating. I thought about you and your thread. You would have been fine! The weather has been fantastic, air clear and absolutely no sign of forest fire.

1 for me. How did you meter the exposure for 2 & 3? I expected there'd be more burn out.

jrb, I'm such a noob when it comes to photography, I don't even know what that means. I used either my iphone or my canon which has auto settings. Most of the adjustment comes with editing the photo once it's taken...I adjust brightness, contrast, etc. there to get the image like I want it.

Thanks for your inputs. I'm going with the bees. While I like the tree, I've posted similar shots for other themes and I think the bees may be more unique. I need to try to stand out amidst over 2,000 photos, many done by professionals. I'm in way over my head, but I'm learning all the time, and it's fun.

Annie, showing my age here. I was thinking you were compensating for those factors when composing the shot. I used to have a darkroom back in the day but now my photo editing consists mostly of cropping.
