Comments (5)Buy an eye/sleep mask. I’m serious. I get claustrophobic when all the windows are covered up by shades/blinds and I also like the ventilation of an open window. I am an extremely light sleeper. I run an air purifier next to my bed for white noise and I wear an eye mask to block out the light. It doesn’t take long to get used to the feeling of it on your face. Worth a try....See MoreBedroom paint colours - 2 bedroom apartment
Comments (8)@acmI am in your ballpark. I have a lot of bedding and switch it out regularly. I pick my bedroom and bathroom paint colors based on what I like and what works with the rest of the house, then I select bedding that works with the bedroom paint color. I do agree with getting your sofa before deciding color in a living room paint color - don't replace my sofa often and color choices are more limited. Same with some other choices - kitchen cabinets, flooring, counter tops. Those stay for a long time and I will paint again before replacing those....See MoreNeed your help with very small beach apartment renovation.
Comments (6)Thanks @decoenthusiaste. Unfortunately, the bed doesn't fit in the closet space and we need the bedside tables for our CPAP machines so the closet around the bed option is also not workable. I've had to compromise the closet space (yet 215cm is not so small) for increased storage space in the kitchen next to the fridge for supplies, brooms, and a vacuum. I've been trying to find a solution for the computer storage, something like a cubby to push it into but that takes up table space. I've already asked the kitchen company if they can add a pull-out table like this to the top drawer of the closest cabinet so we can sit across from each other when the weather is not so great....See MoreSmall room - very low ceiling - color help needed
Comments (8)Thank you, @suzie! I do love the Quitude paint when it looks more green. It is the color I was looking/hoping for. It's hard to see from the photos but I was hoping for what you see in Pic #2 but what is on the walls looks more blue, pic #3 for most of the day. It only looks greener when it's cloudy and late afternoon. It's hard to explain with the difference in monitors but it looks more like a muted robins egg blue b/c the sun just washes it out. I'm terrible at describing color so I appreciate you helping me along this journey! To answer your questions: we have a sample of SW creamy - and I put it on the wall but that was when we were leaning towards a darker color so I quickly ruled it out. So many like and love the color, I will try it again. I will look at Navaho white and Soft Chamois too! A quick look at Soft Chamois online and it looks so beautiful and it has the added weight of color that I'm looking for, without getting too heavy. It may be a bit too griege for this space, only b/c everything in this house is grayer than normal. I finally understand why the previous owners painted everything bright carnival colors :) I will grab a chip and sample at the store today. Thanks for the ideas! We painted the trim only in this room. I know you are supposed to keep the trim consistent but, with everythign up in the air and we are fixing things up, I didn't want to wait to re-do trim. The alabaster looks soft and pretty in here but I'm willing to change if it doesn't go with anythign else. It's funny how paint names really guide you...I always stay aware from SW Pure White b/c of the name. Not sure why...meanwhile, so many on Houzz usse it and I like it in photos. It makes me think "primer white", and it is definitely NOT like that at all. I'm a fan of keeping the same or similar colors on the trim. I went through a phase where I liked the contrast and now I want everything the same, esp in the smaller rooms. We changed the trim in our downstairs dining area and converted to a side room/nook. We had philipsburg blue on the trim with cameo on the walls. I don't know what we were thinking...it was many years ago. We repainted with cameo white again b/c in that small room, it's so dark it looks more like a soft linen, not too yellow at all. We changed the trim from this dark blue to cameo white - at 75%. The room looks so much bigger. The sublte change from wall to molding keeps things consistent. I like the idea of doing that again. As much as I loved the green/blue idea in the bedroom upstairs, I think the contrast is another reason I'm having an issue iwth it. I think lighter and similar trim is the way to go. Thanks for all of your suggestions!...See MoreRelated Professionals
