Comments (2)I have no idea why builders do what they do. What purpose does the niche fill? It collects dust, adds nothing to the design of the room. Comments (4)Thanks so much. I had an L couch configuration before and it worked well for tv and being social (in larger groups), but Melle_sacto you’re right. Both photos are of the space staged. The L sofa configuration closes of the space a bit so we opted to make the love seat a “reading” area. This is great of you have kids btw. Comments (6)Thank you so much for your response! Yes, fortunately, my husband is extremely crafty and can handle the stonework. I have included a photo of the space (before we painted the wall) so you can see the overall layout of the room. I appreciate the idea of putting the TV over where the bar is located, but how would you layout the furniture? We have two large sofas and two reclining chairs. Comments (3)Maybe you can add a bit of color with the accent chair, as you have plants adding a dark green or blue would help to animate the room and create a focal point. Also, are you thinking of adding a coffee table? It is the remaining element that is missed in your current design. I would suggest adding something neutral like a Barcelona table.
